As we celebrate the remarkable 40-year journey of the Apple Macintosh, it’s impossible not to reflect on the iconic moments and innovations that have shaped the world of personal computing. The Macintosh, introduced on January 24, 1984 by Steve Jobs and his team, marked a turning point in the tech industry, revolutionizing the way we interact with computers. To honor this milestone, download these wallpapers.
Macintosh 40th anniversary inspired wallpapers
On the verge of a completely new computing paradigm with the Apple Vision Pro, many Apple fans are taking time to look back at the original Macintosh.
Offered by 9techeleven.com, the first three images capture both the original designs of Macintosh and a combination Apple’s technology over time.
9techeleven then created the first two wallpapers as an inspiration from the Tim Cook tweet. All three make incredible iPhone downloads. The iconography image was shared by Tim Cook on the anniversary via X.
To round out the collection, two more wallpapers capture the history of the device. From unsplash.com, both images offer a minimal almost monochrome design. First, a 3D rendering of the early Macintosh greets you with the historic “hello” imagery, by @Alexander Shatov. Second, a desktop sized picture of the desktop device, sitting along on a stool, waiting to greet you, by @Federica Galli.
It is incredible to think how Apple computing has progressed across the 40-year timeline. From a simple, all-in one CRT display designed in plastic, to a simple all-in one wearable OLED 24 million pixel display shrouded in curved glass. …not to mention the computing power of the two machines.
