The new Mujjo Shield Case is drop protection rated to 5 meters, or about 15 feet, earning it military-grade MIL-STD-810 certification. If you’ve opted for an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max instead one of the standard models, you’re going to need a case with robust impact protection to protect that beautiful titanium finish.
This is the very first impact-resistant case from Mujjo, a Troubadour-owned brand renowned for its high-quality protective leather cases for smartphones.
Mujjo Shield Case for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro
Passing the MIL-STD-810 certification is no easy task, so Mujjo had to develop new protective technologies that the company hadn’t used before.
It starts with an internal bumper system, ImpactCore, that absorbs the energy of the impact that would otherwise be transferred to the phone itself and the screen edges. The microfibre-lined inner shell keeps your device in pristine condition.
To make sure that the sophisticated rear camera system stays intact not only when the phone is accidentally dropped but due to everyday usage, too, the Shield Case features a raised area around the camera hump on the back, which protects those sapphire lenses when you rest your iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max facedown.
And in order to protect your device’s Super Retina XDR display, the Shield Case sports a one-millimeter raised lip that runs around the screen edges.
It protects against nicks and scratches on the edges of the screen that occur when pulling the phone in and out of your pocket or laying it on a table and picking it up.
For those wondering, the Shield Case is MagSafe-compatible.
What about sustainability?
Yes, this is a leather case—imagine that! As you know, Apple has abandoned natural leather for accessories in favor of an eco-friendlier material, dubbed FineWoven.
But Mujjo already one-ups Apple in that regard because Mujjo’s leather cases are built using premium, eco-certified European leather that has been tanned in the Netherlands without hard chemicals. The approach has earner Mujjo Gold certification by the Leather Working Group for environmental standards.
It goes deeper than that—Mujjo says the Shield Case uses recycled plastic for the external buttons, the raised camera bump and the inner shell, so there’s that. Last but not least, all Mujjo cases, this case included, are delivered inside 100 percent paper packaging and have a 2-year manufacturer warranty.
