Nomad releases new ChargeKey keychain charging cable for USB-C and Lightning devices

Our friends at Nomad have just debuted a new iteration of their iconic ChargeKey accessory, which is essentially a phone or tablet charging cable that tethers to your key ring so that you always have a means to keep your device(s) fully charged.

Nomad ChargeKey V2.

The latest version of ChargeKey is only marginally longer than an ordinary house key and is available in both USB-C to Lightning and USB-C to USB-C configurations.

When fully extended, Nomad’s new ChargeKey provides just under five inches of usable cable length for device charging.

Built with premium materials such as braided nylon cables and electroplated zinc metal housings, these things will take a beating when slamming against your car and house keys all day, and will withstand harsh elements.

Nomad tells us that the ChargeKey supports up to 60W charging, including support for 20W fast-charging for iPhones. The cable can also double as a data cable in a pinch, offering USB 2.0 transfer speeds. While that’s not great for file transfers, it’s better than nothing when you don’t have any other cables on you. Charging is the obvious focus here.

If you’re interested in picking up one of Nomad’s new ChargeKey accessories, then you should head over to their website right now. The USB-C to Lightning version is available for $35, while the USB-C to USB-C version is available for $25.
