The new Apple silicon Mac Pro completes the transition away from Intel

The Apple silicon Mac Pro workstation powered by the M2 Ultra chip is the last Mac computer to transition away from processors built by Intel.

The Cupertino firm unveiled an Apple silicon version of the Mac Pro with M2 Ultra, PCIe expansions slots and more at the June 5 WWDC23 keynote.

At the WWDC21, Apple said it would switch all its Macs, including the powerful Mac Pro workstation, to its own silicon. Today’s Apple silicon Mac Pro powered by the company’s own M2 Ultra processor completes the switch.
