The Apple Store in Mumbai is, shockingly, the first Apple Store located in India. Apple is celebrating the occasion, like most openings, with its own detailed landing page. The site welcomes future guests:
Hello Mumbai. We are getting ready to welcome you aboard our first store in India. And raring to see where your creativity takes you at Apple BKC.
According to The Economic Times of India, as noted by The Verge, the space will be a 22,000 square foot location at the premium Jio World Drive mall and open sometime late summer, around August or September 2023. The location is said to be of landmark architecture, similar to the incredible work on sites in LA, New York, Beijing, Milan, and Singapore. Until this year, Apple has relied on franchisee and Apple Premium Reseller locations. After the Jio World Drive location opens, the Times expects additional, smaller locations, at other malls across India.
