Cowabunga, the popular all-in-one system customization app for TrollStore and MacDirtyCow devices running iOS or iPadOS 14.0-16.1.2, was updated to v10.0 on Thursday with a substantial change log that serves to benefit end users.
Citing the change log published on the project’s GitHub page, Cowabunga v10.0 brings the following changes and improvements:
– Brand new theming system! Provides less compression, more applying consistency, and clock icon can now be themed!
– Added more status bar options:
– Changing battery detail text
– Show Wi-Fi/Cellular signal strength
– Changing battery icon capacity
– Changing Wi-Fi/Cellular signal strength bars
– Added settings app customizer (custom image, custom footnote, remove icons/labels/previews)
– Added calculator error message changer
– Added changing notification shadow color
– Added changing Control Center background blur color
– Added hiding low power alerts in extra settings
– Remade springboard tools ui (merged it with springboard colors)
– New background frequency option
– Background frequency options now show how often they apply tweaks
– Rearranged some tabs
– App now hangs for a little while prior to respring in order to give the springboard time to restart. This should help issues of tweaks not applying.
As you can probably discern for yourself, this update brings a lot of new features that make Cowabunga even more powerful of a system customization app than before.
New options include new ways to customize the Status Bar, ways to hide low power alerts, ways to customize the colors of Control Center and Notification Center shadows and blurs, and more.
Since Cowabunga can be installed either via TrollStore or MacDirtyCow, it supports a wide range of firmware versions. TrollStore can perma-sign the app on iOS & iPadOS versions 14.0-15.4.1 (and some 15.5 and 15.6 betas), while the app can be alternatively sideloaded onto iOS 15.6-16.2.1 with tools like AltStore or Sideloadly where it can utilize the MacDirtyCow bug instead. Unlike TrollStore however, sideloaded apps aren’t perma-signed and need to be re-signed once every seven days.
