View how many messages you’ve exchanged with friends with SMSStats 3

Do you ever wonder exactly how much time you spend texting your friends, or perhaps even the number of messages you’ve exchanged? There’s a certain ‘stats for nerds’ appeal to this concept that I find interesting, and if you’re in a similar boat, then you might take interest in a new and free jailbreak tweak dubbed SMSStats 3 by iOS developer ExTBH.

After installing SMSStats 3, you’ll find a new “S” button at the top-left of the Messages app in any conversation that you can tap to view specific statistics about the number of messages sent and received in that conversation.

As depicted in the screenshot example above, the tweak breaks down the number of messages exchanged by iMessage, SMS, and combined, and even further filters by sent and received.

Because it can be confusing to follow these stats on a per-contact basis if you’ve got several people in the same conversation, the developer thoughtfully included a per-contact option that you can visit via the contact info page to view individual statistics for each person.

SMSStats 3 is a simple jailbreak tweak with very little going on apart from logging and displaying stats, so it should come as no surprise that it doesn’t come with any options to configure.

Those interested in giving SMSStats 3 a try for themselves can download it for free from the BigBoss repository via their favorite package manager app. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 14 devices.
