Tosaka brings weather information to the Status Bar of jailbroken devices

There’s no shortage of people who like to stay on top of the weather, especially during stormy seasons. You can have all the weather apps you want, but you won’t be able to see what’s happening outside unless you actually open those apps.

iOS developer Sugiuta wanted a more system-wide approach to weather information and consequently released a new and free jailbreak tweak called Tosaka that keeps users apprised of the weather outside right from the handset’s Status Bar.

Tosaka transforms the Status Bar’s time indicator such that it changes between displaying the time, the weather conditions, and your current location once every ten seconds.

As you can discern for yourself in the screenshot examples above, the weather indicator displays a small glyph depicting the weather conditions outside, alone with the current temperature. The location indicator displays a relevant glyph along with your current city.

With no options to configure, using Tosaka is as easy as installing it and reaping the benefits. The tweak looks fairly native and keeps a low-key aesthetic that doesn’t overpower your Status Bar with clutter.

Those interested in giving Tosaka a try can download the tweak for free from Sugiuta’s personal repository via their favorite package manager app. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 14 devices.

Those who aren’t already using Sugiuta’s personal repository can add it to their package manager app of choice by using the URL provided below:
