Frustrated with the YouTube app’s back-to-back ads? This jailbreak tweak can help

YouTube is one of, if not the, best online video platforms in existence today, but most of the people I talk to share the same complaint: it’s infested with ads, with some disrupting playback so intensely that they play back-to-back without a skip option. God help us all…

How to fix YouTube not working on iPhone or iPad

If you’ve given up your fair share of time watching YouTube’s seemingly endless ad strings and you’re ready for the app to cool it down a little, then a free jailbreak tweak named NoYTAds by iOS developer zachary7829 may offer you some refuge.

With NoYTAds, jailbreakers are about to watch videos from the official YouTube app ad-free, and it may be worth clarifying that this tweak doesn’t work on the YouTube website – only in the app.

Ad-free playback is only one of many perks that come with a YouTube Premium subscription. Additional perks of a YouTube Premium subscription include saving videos for offline playback, background video playback even when your device is locked, and unfettered access to YouTube Music.

It’s already possible to block ads in the YouTube app with certain ad-blocking VPN configurations, but these types of filters can also interfere with connecting to websites and services you intend to use, so it’s not always the ideal solution.

While we highly recommend using YouTube Premium if all the perks sound appealing to you, NoYTAds offers a nice break from YouTube’s relentless ad playback, and it’s available as a free download from zachary7829’s personal repository via any package manager app of your choosing.

NoYTAds supports jailbroken iOS & iPadOS 13 and 14 devices with the official YouTube app installed via the App Store and is open source on the developer’s GitHub page.
