MindGarden, Thoughtwriter, Sink and other apps to check out this weekend

It’s 2022! Thank you for choosing to spend the new year with us here at iDB, we have some great Apps of the Week picks for you. There’s a gamified meditation app, a smart mood journal with a slick UI, and an app to help you read more. And as always, we’ve selected a great game for you to check out.

MindGarden: Fun Meditation

It’s the beginning of a new year, making it the perfect time to consider starting a healthy habit like mediation, and MindGarden wants to help. The app takes a gameified approach—collecting coins, cultivating your own garden, etc—to help encourage repeated use. And that’s the most important part of meditating—actually doing it.

Thoughtwriter

Continuing with the self improvement theme, here’s Thoughtwriter. The app uses privacy-focused tech to predict what your mood is based on the thoughts and life events you share in your journal. Then you can track how your mood changes over time. Nothing terribly groundbreaking here, but I like the UI a lot.

Sink – Reading Lasts Forever

If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to read more in 2022, you may want to check out Sink. The app offers a number of features that can help with your endeavors, including reading time trackers and reminders. It also has a place for you to jot down notes/excerpts from your reading, which we all know helps the info stick.
