Will the iPhone SE screen ever grow past 4.7 inches? And if so, when might that happen? According to a reliable Apple analyst, iPhone SE fans should expect a bigger-screened iPhone SE to launch sometime in 2023.

iPhone SE screen to grow bigger in 2023?
That’s according to TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the most reliable Apple analyst on the planet. In his new research note to clients obtained by MacRumors, AppleInsider and 9to5Mac, the revered analyst expresses his expectation for Apple to release new iPhone models in 2022 and 2023. He previously called for a new iPhone SE in 2022, but this is the first time Kuo has discussed its 2023 successor. “We expect Apple to release a new iPhone SE in 2023 with a larger display than the 2022 iPhone SE’s 4.7-inch and 4GB of memory support (vs. 3GB in the iPhone SE 2),” it reads.
iPhone SE is alive and kicking
The iPhone SE is Apple’s most affordable model, priced at $399/$449 for the 64GB/128GB model available in white, black and red.
To achieve its low price, iPhone SE uses lower-resolution screens and less capable cameras but the phone doesn’t compromise in terms of its underlying chip. It’s always been the case that the iPhone SE runs Apple’s most recent processor.
Prior rumors have indicated that Apple will first update the iPhone SE models sometime in the first quarter of 2022. A this-generation iPhone SE is thought to offer an updated chip, 5G connectivity and perhaps a bit better cameras in the same design as the current 4.7-inch model.
This means that a fourth-generation iPhone SE should bring significant changes in terms of the design, potentially filing as Apple’s last LCD-based phone. And if it does come with an OLED-based display, iPhone SE 4 may also offer Face ID.
And that, boys and girls, could indicate no major form factor changes.
Like with Face ID-based iPhone models, Apple could utilize the same chassis as the second-generation iPhone SE and enlarge the display by getting rid of the Touch ID Home button at the bottom and the top border.
