PowerWidget lets jailbreakers perform powerful power commands via an iOS 14 widget

One of the flagship features of iOS 14 was the ability to add widgets directly to the Home Screen alongside your app icons.

This is something that iPhone users have wanted to do for a very long time, and while Apple certainly did wonders to make it a reality, they also kept the number of native widgets to a minimum.

Those looking to add additional powerful widgets to their jailbroken iPhone on iOS 14 would do good to check out a new and free jailbreak tweak release called PowerWidget by iOS developer Ginsu, as it allows users to perform handy power-centric actions right from the Home Screen.

Once installed, users can begin the process of adding a new widget to the Home Screen by entering ‘jiggle’ mode and then tapping on the ‘+’ button to add a new widget. Then, they can find the PowerWidget in the list of available widgets.

Once selected, users can choose between a larger edge-to-edge widget or a more compact 2×2 widget. In any case, it contains individual buttons for Respring, Reboot, Safe Mode, and UICache.

Apart from enabling or disabling the widget on demand, PowerWidget doesn’t have any options to configure. Those interested in equipping their jailbroken iOS 14 device with yet another useful Home Screen widget can download PowerWidget for free from the Packix repository via their favorite package manager app.

Note: The developer states that if the widget doesn’t appear in the widget editing menu immediately after installation, then you may need to run the UICache command via your favorite mobile terminal app to make it appear.
