As noted by several iPad owners out there in the wild, and confirmed firsthand, the Fitness app is not available to download for the iPad at the time of publication. Unlike the iPhone, the Fitness app isn’t preinstalled on the iPad. As a result, folks who want to use Fitness+ on their tablet need to download the Fitness app from the App Store.
It’s a free install. However, if you pull up the app on your iPad through the App Store, the top of the landing page for the app reads, “This app requires specific features not available on this device”. That’s probably a bit troubling, especially for folks who installed iPadOS 14.3 when Apple released the new software. That should be the only thing iPad owners need to be able to download and install the Fitness app.
This appears to be a bug, and it’s likely that Apple will fix the issue very soon. When that happens, we will update this post accordingly.
Meanwhile, for folks trying to access Fitness+ on their iPhone, that should be working just fine. The service is baked directly into the Fitness app.
