This tweak simplifies device connection switching for AirPods

Apple advertises the AirPods and AirPods Pro connectivity experience as ‘magical’ and ‘seamless,’ but if you’ve ever tried to connect your AirPods to another device of yours, then you’ve likely experienced the widespread frustration in which they connect to your most recently-used device instead. It’s easy to fix this when it happens, but it’s also somewhat cumbersome and time-consuming to say the least.

Anyone who is even the least bit familiar with the aforementioned experience will almost certainly come to appreciate the likes of a newly released and free jailbreak tweak called AirPopupConnect by iOS developer nicho1asdev, as it aims to make the process of pairing your AirPods or AirPods Pro to a different device noticeably faster and easier.

As you’ll see in the screenshot example above, AirPopupConnect adds a manual connect button to the bottom of the AirPods pairing pop-up, allowing users to forcefully connect their AirPods or AirPods Pro to another handset with a tap instead of having to jump through the hoops of opening the Settings app and manually connecting them to another from the Bluetooth preference pane.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the simple execution of AirPopupConnect makes it incredibly easy to use, and so anyone who has ever had the displeasure of trying to connect their favorite Apple-branded audio peripheral to another iPhone or iPad will find that the tweak offers relief from the otherwise frustrating reconnecting experience.

AirPopupConnect doesn’t come with any options to configure, and so what you see is essentially what you get. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 13 devices and requires one of Apple’s own first-party Bluetooth audio accessories to be used, as it relies specifically on the native pairing pop-up.

If you’re ready to install AirPopupConnect, then you can get it from nicho1asdev’s personal repository via your preferred package manager.
