Crawlies, Cleanfox, TwIM and other apps to check out this weekend

This week’s edition of our Apps of the Week roundup features some great selections including a creepy-crawler sticker pack, an environmentally-conscious email inbox manager, and a sharp new Twitter DM client. Plus, as usual, we’ve picked out 2 great new games for you to check out.

I decided to go outside of the box a little bit and select an iMessage sticker pack for this week’s list. I don’t use stickers myself, but this one definitely stood out to me. Crawlies features 12 beautifully illustrated and animated bugs of various shapes and sizes that you can send in an iMessage, or stick onto others’ messages. They look and move very realistically, meaning there’s a chance you might actually be able to freak someone out! The Crawlies sticker pack is available for $0.99.

Cleanfox is a fairly new and free app that allows you to delete and unsubscribe from unwanted newsletters and subscription emails with a single tap. It supports multiple languages, as well as all of the major email providers, and it even has filters so you can customize its depth. Additionally, once you’ve cleaned up your inbox, Cleanfox tells you how much you reduced your environmental impact. You may not think it’d be that much, but digital pollution accounts for 2% of worldwide C02 emissions. Cleanfox is available for free.

TwIM is a clean, modern messaging experience, powered by Twitter Direct Messages. You can search for any user on Twitter, send and receive messages with in-line content, block/unlbock users and much more. Other features include 3D Touch and Siri support, push notifications, share extension, and new face emojis they are calling TwIMoji. It’s a really well designed app, so if you use Twitter DMs, or would like to start using them more, this is definitely worth checking out. TwIM is available for free.

Gunman Taco Truck

Gunman Taco Truck is an action-packed arcade game in which you must drive across the post-apocalypse United States to reach the safe haven of Winnipeg, Canada, where there are no taco trucks and your family’s taco business can thrive. It’s weird, it’s gross, and yes there’s violence, but the gameplay is actually pretty good. When you’re stopped, you make taco plates and serve them up as quick as possible, and when you’re on the move, you’re shooting zombies and picking up scraps and other items to help you grow your business. Gunman Taco Truck is available for free (with some IAPs).

Hyperlight EX

Hyperlight is an high intensity arcade action game where you control a spaceship that fights against hordes of evil alien monsters in a virtual cosmic environment. Your spaceship has a special capability: it can travel Faster Than Light (F.T.L.) becoming itself the final weapon. By colliding with enemies in this state the ship can instantly destroy everything it touches! Features include bonuses, upgradeable weapons and other entities, gamepad support, Arcade, Infinity, and Panic modes, and much more. Hyperlight EX is available for $0.99 (sale price).
