Are you plagued with various Skype issues, such as the inability to place VoIP calls, update your status or send instant messages? Are all of your Skype contacts showing as offline? Don’t worry, you’re not alone.

According to a support document published Monday morning, many people are reporting issues with Skype status and calling and Microsoft is working on a fix.

“We’re doing everything we can to fix this issue and hope to have another update for you soon,” the company wrote. “Thank you for your patience as we work to get this incident resolved.”

The Skype team has acknowledged that an issue with the software has been found to affect users in a number of ways. Some people won’t be able to change their status and others might see all of their contacts showing as offline even if they are online, meaning they will be unable to start Skype calls to them.

Additionally, a small number of messages to group chats are not being delivered. “In most cases,” you can still instant message your contacts.

“If you aren’t signed in to Skype, you may be experiencing difficulty when attempting to sign in,” the team wrote.

“Any changes to your Skype account such as your Credit balance or your profile details might take a little while to be displayed.”

Skype is working without hiccups on my end but several of the contacts I have on the service told me they were plagued with the aforesaid issues at the time of this writing.

Is Skype down for your this morning as well?
