WWDC app receives Apple Watch support

Apple’s official iOS app for the Worldwide Developers Conference has received an update ahead of next month’s WWDC 2015 with support for the Apple Watch, conference and schedule information and more.

WWDC 3.0 for the iPhone and iPad puts important conference information right on your wrist. The app can be used to keep tabs on related WWDC news, access floor plans, watch session videos and more.

Similar to previous years, the app has a fresh new icon.

“The WWDC app is now available for Apple Watch, so you can access conference information right from your wrist,” release notes read. “You can also add sessions to Calendar, listen to session audio after you’ve left the app or locked your device, give feedback on session videos directly in the Videos tab, and utilize improved accessibility.”

In addition to the Now section that gives you a brief overview of what’s next at WWDC, the Apple Watch component of WWDC for iPhone includes a wrist-optimized overview of sessions and labs and lets you access your favorites.

An annual summer pilgrimage for Mac and iOS developers, WWDC kicks off with a keynote on Monday, June 8, 2015. The five-day conference will last through Friday, June 12.

The 13.4-megabyte app requires an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad with iOS 7.0 or later.
