Today, the Pixelmator team released an update for Pixelmator for iPad that includes numerous fixes and improvements to the performance of the app, particularly surrounding Blur and Sharpen adjustments in the app and its Photos extension. This marks the second update since the app’s release in October and sets its version number to 1.0.2.

The update comes with a large change log that details improvements to rotation, new sliders for Rotate, Opacity, and Brush Size, and the remastering of brushes to work better with styli. Several fixes in regards to retaining EXIF metadata are included, as well as minimization of the app’s Photos extension in an effort to reduce its memory footprint and overall size.

Performance improvements have been made to the main app itself, including drawing, effect, and retouching enhancements, improved multitasking handling, memory leak fixes, and better compatibility with Pixelmator for Mac.

Pixelmator for iPad was featured on stage by Apple at its October event as a powerful, desktop-class photo editing app for iPad. Voted best photo app of 2014 by iDB staff, Pixelmator for iPad is available in the App Store for $9.99. Today’s 1.0.2 update is free to existing users.
