Instagram gains Superzoom camera format, Halloween-inspired filters & stickers

Instagram today updated its mobile app for iPhone and iPad in App Store, adding a new Superzoom camera format along with some Halloween-style face filters and stickers.

Superzoom

A new camera format in Instagram, Superzoom is an “easy way to record a funny video with dramatic sound effects,” according to the company. When using this capture format, the camera automatically zooms in with suspenseful music.

Instagram notes that you can make a Superzoom of anything, from your selfie or your friend’s goofy face to your half-eaten sandwich.

As always, you can send your video to your friends on Instagram Direct or add it to your Story. To access this feature, tap “Superzoom” next to “Boomerang” under the record button.

Halloween effects

Available through November 1, these limited-time face filters and stickers let you create Halloween-themed posts with ease. The fitters are fun to play with: you can turn yourself into a zombie, transform from a vampire into a flying bat, get lost in a mysterious fog and more.

Plus, you can apply some nicely done Halloween-inspired stickers to your photos and videos.

The Instagram app was updated just a few days ago with the ability to go live with a friend in split-screen mode, a feature that has been in limited testing since August.

Instagram is available at no charge in App Store.
