Popular YouTube tech reviewer Marques Brownlee, known by many as MKBHD, has posted an unboxing video for both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The 5 minute clip offers an up-close look at both handsets, in Black and Jet Black respectively, as well as the design and contents of their packaging. Check it out below.

There’s nothing groundbreaking revealed here, but this is the first proper unboxing video we’ve seen for Apple’s new flagship smartphones. If nothing else, it provides a nice look at the new Lightning EarPods, and the much-maligned adapter, and the difference between the new matte Black and Jet Black colorways.

Hmmm black looks good but still can’t steal me from jet Black

    • smtp25

It looks cool .. but I’ll still have it in a case 24/7 and if I didn’t the finish is going to look bit scuffed after a few weeks/months?

    • mrgerbik

There is no way id buy that glossy black unless you have a good, quality case that wont allow any dirt/dust into it.
Otherwise I guarantee 100% it’ll look like shit in 6 months

With the 7Plus having 3GB does that mean Safari will be able to use it to? So web pages won’t have to reload as you switch between tabs? I have that on my iPad Air and iPad 3 and its one of my pet hates about them

My vote is for the 7Plus Matte Black 128GB

    • Mr.Coolfreak

Well yea, the whole phone will run smoother due to 3gb

    • Phil Randle

Yeah it will. The 6S and iPad Pro didn’t have this issue because of the upgraded RAM.

No hard case for the earpods :'(

    • Khalid Tahhan

to partially subsidize the cost of the free dongle included.

      • mrgerbik

Lol like apple is running razor thin profit margins. SMH

      • Khalid Tahhan

So you figured out the greed in their ways. Good. Still gonna buy the phone?

      • mrgerbik

Not the point of the comment

Agree this was a lame move by Apple. Don’t suppose they would fit in an old EarPods case?

      • Probably do.. I’m sure if you try and buy these new pods in stores without a phone they’ll come in a hard shell case. Apple made this move because they had to fit the new dongle in the box too. If you look at how other companies do stuff.. they usually toss the extra cables in the box but they rattle around. I believe Apple’s redesign to not include the plastic casing was for this reason, no rattling. Not to mention environmentally safe.. rather then always using plastic it’s paper now.

And the real question is, can Jet Black be melted by Jet Fuel?

  • The question is, is it worth getting the lightning earpods for the iPhone 6s?

    • Y2J

Personally, im not gonna bother as it seems really pointless.

    • Docservlet

I’d say yes. New camera takes amazing pics.

3gb of ram in the iPhone 7 Plus maybe it’s best feature. Sorry, I don’t count phone color has a feature in a Case World.

I was gonna get the jet black but couldn’t wait til November, so i opt for silver. The silver 7 plus looks cool. Kinda reminds me of Bender. Hmm maybe I should get a case with a Bender face near the dual camera lol

Reminds me a lot of the iPhone 3G glossy look.
