OS X El Capitan Notes image 001

A third beta of what would become El Capitan’s first major software update following the recent release of the operating system is now available to members of the Apple Developer Program¬†and public beta testers signed for the Apple Beta Software Program.

The new OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan beta 3 carries a build number of 15B30a and is available through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store and as a standalone download via the Apple Developer Center.

The official release notes don’t list any changes for the OS X 10.11.1 beta 3 software, but we’ll make sure to update this article as soon as we find out what’s changed since the previous beta.

OS X 10.11.1 beta 1 was seeded to developers on September 17 whilst a second beta became available twelve days later, on September 29, 2015.

The first major software update to El Capitan will bring stability, compatibility and security improvements and enable things like support for Unicode 8 and new emojis, including taco, burrito, cheese wedge, popcorn, middle finger and many more.

Just yesterday, Apple seeded a fourth beta of the forthcoming iOS 9.1 software update to public testers and developers along with a matching new beta of tvOS, the software platform powering the new Apple TV.

what about airdrop support between iOS 9 and El Capitan? it was working before update but now my Mac and iPhone can’t see each other in airdrop. but it works between two iPhones though.

    • stylesbeyond

      • Ismail Akram

You guys have same problem as I’ve described ? Can’t airdrop to Mac from iOS and vice verse

    • Hydro Mac

      • Hydro Mac

You sure it’s turned on on the iPhone?

      • Ismail Akram

I installed the latest OSX El’ Captain. Things seem to be running slower. Anything but I could do besides restalling a clean system. I don’t want to lose anything. Using Mid 2012 MBP 8gb of ram.

    • Ismail Akram

I think same here, I thought for increase speed but instead got opposite experience.

    • Hydro Mac

See a slight increase in speed on my two Mac’s but nothing to write home about.

    • Mike M. Powell

      So don’t upgrade? :/

      • Guy

I already installed it but it’s hard to say. You might have a better out comebb

  • tunutsaigon

No Airdrop support between iOS 8.4 and El Capitan! I am really pissed off… >.<

  • Cristian Meneses

Reading all comments about El Capitan Beta being slow and breaking AirDrop, makes me think its a great time to leave the Capitan Beta Program until next OS X version and stick to the Release…

I didn’t do the beta program. Did feel like doing free work for Apple that they have more than enough people that work for Apple that can do it and still they didn’t nail all the bugs down, especially the gapping hole someone found after they had burnt the GM or what ever it’s called. I found one where if your using a Airport Time Capsule either it or the Mac keeps forgetting the Airport Time Capsule password when trying to do a restore.
