iPad-Pro-Air-Plus-Prototype

A sketch captured by a factory worker at Foxconn claims to show a prototype of the long-rumored, larger iPad Pro. French blog Nowhereelse posted the image, showing four integrated speakers that would make sense for a larger iPad measuring between 12.2- and 12.9-inches.

We’re typically pretty careful about these type of leaks. However, Nowhereelse claims the image is from a reliable tipster in the past who provided some of the first images of the iPhone 6.

The image of the alleged iPad Pro is relatively boring, not showing all that much. Though, the tipster does claim the thickness would be between 6.9 and 7.5mm.

The sometimes accurate KGI Securities’ Ming-Chi Kuo has previously said the iPad Pro will launch in Q2 2015. It was said to be originally slated for fall 2014, but manufacturing issues pushed it back.

  • looks nice because it looks like it has the same design features as the iPad mini/air

This could potentially crush the current success of the Surface Pro 3

    • mike

IMO depends on the OS Apple plans to install on it. The Surface 1&2 both had an NVIDIA Processor, with Windows 8 RTM installed, (equivalent to iOS, limiting the use to App Store apps). When the Pro 3 came out, it was revealed with a real desktop class Intel Processor, and a full version of Windows.

TL;DR It will only compete with Pro 3 if Apple ships it with OS X, not iOS.

      • Buzz { Light:Year; }

Pro had desktop non pro was limited.

      • Clearly Microsoft didn’t do a good job of distinguishing the Surface RT/2 from the Surface Pro 1/2.

      • Rowan09

Completely agree. People that wanted to buy the Pro saw the big increase in price from the RT and didn’t get it. I have a friend with the RT who thought it was the Pro.

      • mike

I stand corrected. Would be nice if MS’s product line was as distinguishable as Apple’s, they’d likely have more customers.

      • quitcherbichinn

All three versions of the Surface have had an RT and Pro version. It is not something new to the Surface 3.

      • FYI, there’s no Surface RT 3.

      • mike

This is correct, I wasn’t aware.

    • Framboogle

      What success?

      • Dingledog

        Framboogle i need your help.
I use your Cydia tweak called Timepasscode, but suddenly it has just locked me out of my device. When i try to enter the time as a passcode it says the following: *Passcode changed* “It seems like you’ve changed your passcode. Please unlocky our device using the true passcode to reconfigure your device.”
I’ve tried every previous passcode i’ve had and i even tried entering all of them and the time backwards, none of it works and it just displays me that message. I’m completely locked out of my iPhone please help.

A flash for the camera would be nice to finally have.

    • mike

You may be the only one I’ve seen in recent years who is in favor of a camera flash. 99% of the time I find flash an inconvenience.

      • iBanks

Then obviously 99% of your pics are taken in well lit areas or daylight times.

      • Buzz { Light:Year; }

Take pictures with a huge brick lol

    • ck125

Please no. That is all we need, more people taking “selfies” with their tablets/ipads

      • iBanks

Too late… It’s already been done for years now. And most people take “selfies” with the front facing camera, not the rear one. And some tablets already have flashes on them and have had them.

      • ck125

Yes but removing the flash (or not adding it for those devices that never had it) would deter those things.

      • iBanks

You seem so against selfies though you just take one a couple hours ago. It’s not that serious.

      • ck125

Huh? I’m not against “selfies” I’m against them with tablets. But whatever you say.

  • iamzaidan

i hope apple knows that thickness is not an issue for us! its about the specs…
im hoping for atleast 3gb ram!

    • ck125

Good luck with that. 2gb if you’re lucky.

      • Buzz { Light:Year; }

They will stay with 1 and probably save 2 for the next generation knowing apple

      • Maxim∑

so they will make the iPad Pro have 1GB of RAM while the Air 2 has 2GB……

      • Kurt

This is Apple. Wouldn’t surprise any of us. Don’t buy the first Gen. It won’t be supported for with new firmwares for long and will lack features and specs.

      • Rowan09

You can install IOS 8 on the 4s and iPad 2 so, why wouldn’t the Pro support firmware updates?

      • Kurt

I was talking about first gen products.

      • Rowan09

I understand, but this isn’t really a first gen product.

      • rockdude094

        Nice burn !

      • Svs

iPad air 2 has 2GB so i think it atleast should have 2GB

      • iamzaidan

        iPad Air 2…2gb
        so the iPad pro…3gb
        makes sense that way

  • Will they release this along side the next iPhone? Apple obviously knows that mobile OS’s are limited compared to desktop OS’s and that a tablet running OS X will hit record sales.
    – Mirror a second screen to your Apple TV.
    – Adobe Creative Cloud.
    – Development Software.
One of the main problems will be implementing a user friendly keyboard virtual or physical. Microsoft beat them to this area.

  • czbird

    Stereo speakers? Finally!
