Carpe Diem Settings

It seems like more and more tweaks are beginning to take advantage of the available real estate present when invoking Reachability. Case in point: Carpe Diem—a new jailbreak tweak that allows you to place iOS Today View widgets directly in the space that becomes available when using Reachability.

After installing Carpe Diem, you’ll need to head over to the stock Settings app to find the tweak’s preferences. There, you’ll find a list of all of the available Notification Center widgets, both first and third-party. You can then select a single widget to add to the Reachability view.

Most of the widgets that I tested played nice with Carpe Diem, but a few, most notably the ESPN widget, didn’t want to work. The developer of Carpe Diem touts the compatibility with first, third-party, and WeeLoader extensions, but clearly the tweak still has some room to grow in this area.

That all being said, Carpe Diem is a welcomed jailbreak tweak, and a legitimate way to get more out of Reachability. If you have a widget that you’re always looking to view, then Carpe Diem can make it easier to stay in tune with what’s going on in your widget of choice.

You can find Carpe Diem for $0.99 on Cydia’s BigBoss repo. What do you think?

    Pretty handy tweak.
Except some bugs that jumps to the selected app when open app at some points.
No setting icon is a minus too.
I use to peak what date is today with Calendar 5

Since iPhone 6 wasn’t too big for me, I permanently disabled reachability and use Virtual Home’s double tap feature to invoke app switcher. But with recent brilliant tweaks that work with reachability, I think it worth another chance.

  • Does not work for me. After i installed this thwek reachability doesn’t work anymore…

Jeff I would love it if you made your videos in 9:16. Just like app previews in the App Store. That way your video takes up all my screen. And you wouldn’t have that extra white space which only wastes your precious bandwidth.

  • great idea; but it didn’t play well with many widgets. Some worked. Still a bit unstable. I found Reachweather more stable for now.

  • This breaks all iCloud functionality on my phone! Just performed a clean install but as soon as I reinstall Carpe Diem, my phone continuously prompts asking me to enter my iCloud password. Doesn’t matter if I enter it or dismiss the pop-up: it will continue to reappear after some time.
When checking Settings > iCloud, it looks like I’m actually signed in. I can turn off everything but Find My iPhone nor can I log out from iCloud: I get the error “there was an error deregistering this iPhone from iCloud”. Disabling e.g. Contacts and opting to remove them from my phone, removes them, but they do not sync back when I reenable Contacts (so I guess synchronisation is just broken as soon as you install Carpe Diem).
Had this issue on 8.1.1 jailbroken with Pangu and now on 8.1.2 jailbroken with TAiG. Only way to fix this, is by uninstalling Carpe Diem then rebooting the phone. Other people having this issue? Couldn’t find much about it on the internet… I’ve contacted the developer about this issue.
