The nation’s second-largest carrier, AT&T, said on Friday that it will be increasing monthly data allotments for two of its Mobile Share Value plans.

Beginning Sunday, November 2, Mobile Share Value customers will get three gigabytes of high-speed 4G LTE data for $40 a month instead of two gigabytes.

In addition, customers on a pricer tier will be treated  to six gigabytes for $70 a month instead of four gigabytes like before.

Furthermore, all Mobile Share Value plans now get unlimited international messaging for text, picture and video for no additional cost.

International messaging includes messages sent from the United States, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands to more than 190 countries for text messages and 120 countries for picture and video messages.

Here’s AT&T’s price comparison chart.

Keep in mind that pricing excludes device access charges.

The promotion includes both family and business plans and requires an additional device access fee of $25 per month for each line of service.

As a nice bonus, the carrier is extending its double data deal on Mobile Share Value plans ranging from 15GB to 50GB until November 15, 2014.

As we previously explained, this offer gives Mobile Share Value subscribers 30/40/60/80/100GB of LTE data on their smartphone or tablet instead of the 15/20/30/40/50GB buckets, for the same $130/$160/$225/$300/$375 monthly fee.

Other carriers have followed AT&T’s example by announcing similar double data deals of their own, including the #1 U.S. carrier Verizon and Sprint, the nation’s #3 mobile operator.

So me and my 10GB plan gets screwed both ways.

    • Rupinder S

I ended up paying the extra every month and upgraded to fifteen GB’s, which I upgraded to thirty for free. Offer ends today.

      • Merman123

They extended the offer until November 15th, actually. I took advantage of this plan as well.

      • Rupinder S

Thirty is so much, it’s crazy lol

      • I use 7x that each month…but on WiFi.

      • Really? I use 7x that each month :P…but on WiFi.

      • Beat Modz

i use 600 GB on wifi too !!! thank you COX

      • WaterTrooper

You use this on your smart phone?

      • Nope, that’s on my Surface Pro and my home WiFi. If my SmartPhone (iPhone 4s) plan included unlimited data, then I wouldn’t mind tethering all my SmartPhone’s data to my Surface Pro. Browsing all of that data with my SmartPhone would just be really frustrating 😛

      • Jack Wong

You are just telling us you do video streaming a lot.

I could stream 24/7 and get a bigger # than that.

      • K…what’s your point?

      • Jack Wong

        Same as your screenshot.

      • My screenshot show the amount of data I use each month. If what you intended to say with those words was the amount of data you use each month, then you failed miserably…

      • Jack Wong

        Please explain then.

Your screenshot replied to the post about 30GB is a lot, am I correct?

      • Rupinder S

Yeah, who knows how much Wifi I use monthly lol

      • Imagine using 1 GB per day – 30 GBs does go a long way!

      • WaterTrooper

I upgraded from 10GB to 15GB and now I get 30GB. I don’t know what to do now. Guess I have to find another person to add to my account.

      • Jack Wong

Jumped on this plan like a week ago, 30GB for 5 smartphones and 1 tablet, before that we have 10GB monthly and we can’t even finish 50%.

Since I am on this 30GB shared data, I just tether to my laptop whenever I feel the Time Warner free hotspot is slow in the office.

      • Rupinder S

I do the same at school lol

      • Jack Wong

I am happy with this off contract plan, and I was grand father with the unlimited but no tethering… with a very expensive family plan.

I expect to see the next generation of LTE and the price would go up again…

    • Tony Trenkle Jr.

Was gonna say the same thing lol

    • iChoota

Last week ATT’s retention department was giving 10 gig users an additional 10 gigs at no additional cost. My friend bumped into a reddit forum where people were discussing it. I gave it a shot and after a 5minute call, I was a 20 gig data user. I just recently gave up my “unlimited data plan” too.

      • White Michael Jackson

is this the truth. i am going to call and try now.

    • WaterTrooper

Just downgrade yor plan to the one closest to 10GB and keep on eye on your data and save some money. You can sign up I get text messages at certain percentages.

  • mrgerbik

Sasktel gives us ‘unlimited’ data here in canada … Albiet it is slowed at a 15GB ‘limit’
Gotta love corporate uses of the word ‘unlimited’

    • I’m guessing that’s only available in Saskatchewan, ’cause I’ve never heard of such in Alberta…

      • mrgerbik

Yes its Sask, thats why its called SaskTel 😛
I lived in Alberta for 12 years and always hated dealing with Telus.. they like to rape its customers
Here, they are always trying to match SaskTels rates so they wont lose too much renevue

SaskTel is the best provider i Canada ATM IMO

      • Currently with Fido here in Alberta…the carriers offering the “Unlimited” deal (Wind and Mobilicity) are tiny and unreliable. I keep wishing for T-Mobile to make it’s way over to Canada, but won’t mind if SaskTel just made it’s way to Alberta.

Hey, getting closer to unlimted data, this reminds me of the days when you minute and texting tiers.

  • Juan Genao

I think the 10GB plan sill is beter, because you end up paying $15 per device not $25,

  • Jamessmooth

This is just ammo ATT will use when the FTC takes them to court… “but look what we’ve done”!

  • Blake

2nd largest carrier? I can’t wait till the unlimited data thing gets sorted out.

  • Dani Hayes

Screw your crappy data plans, AT&T. I’m staying with my unlimited data.

    • ridonkulous

Same here, still on unlimited data. Only thing I miss is tethering.

  • oralarts

When did they increase the device access fee from $15 to $25 when off contract or using NEXT? I’m on the 10gb plan, and I pay $15 per device.

These telecoms are so sneaky 🙂

  • n0ahcruz3

PR movement because they were caught throttling unlimited data 😉

  • WaterTrooper

Maybe the unlimited plans will come back in the future.

  • SoylentGreen

And a nice tracking header, with ‘all’ your data, its ok tho because its for your own good. Just like jim jones kool-aid, this header is outwith your control as it is added when ‘data’ leaves your phone on their side. On a positive note tho, you at least get assistance to purchase ‘stuff’, also why sweat it when they are only ‘makin bacon’ which will benefit you in the really long run looool

  • i now have 30 GB of LTE DATA from 10GB… FREE UPGRADE…No exta charges ever! Still offering till 11-15.
