Vestigo is a great-looking upcoming jailbreak tweak that makes managing Wi-Fi networks on your jailbroken iPhone a breeze. It’s a well-designed tweak that incorporates Activator gestures to access Wi-Fi management from anywhere.

We’ve got an early look at Vestigo—a tweak that should be touching down on Cydia any day now—and we really like what we’ve found. Want to see how Vestigo works in action? Take a glance at our video walkthrough after the break.

After installing Vestigo, you’ll need to establish an Activator gesture by means of the tweak’s preferences. Inside of Vestigo’s preferences, you’ll see a shortcut to enable that Activator gesture. As I normally do, I decided to use a double-tap on the status bar gesture for Vestigo.

Once you setup Activator, that’s pretty much all there is to it. Invoke Vestigo using your newly assigned gesture, and you’ll see a Wi-Fi management pop-over appear on screen.

The Vestigo Wi-Fi manager lets end users perform a whole host of cool functions from the convenience of anywhere. You can enable or disable Wi-Fi, scan for additional networks, manage and join individual networks, and view and copy/paste the SSIDs and passwords of known networks.

Venturing into the individual settings of a connected network reveals a whole host of additional settings that are not normally accessible in stock iOS. You’ll see things like signal strength, channel, noise, SNR, and other advanced metrics. If you’re trying to troubleshoot a Wi-Fi connection, these metrics can be helpful if you know what you’re doing.

Vestigo is practical, useful, and it’s fun to use. It’s also extremely well-designed. For that reason I can unequivocally recommend it to those of you looking for a better way to manage your Wi-Fi networks on iOS. Check for it soon on the ModMyi repo for $1.59. Would you use it?

Sorry to ask this here but anyone knows if gridlock will be updated to support 7.1.x. Or if there’s any other tweak that does the same functions as gridlock

    • Ali

      It hasn’t been yet.

    • Dan

I had to resort to using iBlank

homescreen designer works great on my iphone 4 7.1.2.. takes a little getting used to but can set different layouts on every page.. gridlock was always one of my first adds, but without it working I am glad I am using homescreen designer.. have at 0 issues with it.. Cheers..

  • Martin

Looks cool. Gonna give it a try.

  • Tony

I’m interested but is activator updated for 7.1.2? Probably has and I just missed it.

    • Niclas

The beta is mostly, if not fully compatible with 7.1.x!
      No crashes or serious problems.

I like the idea, a Bluetooth version would be awesome too.

  • andyr354

Really slick. I think I will setup a cctoggle shortcut. Wonder how soon until its available.

Not really pleased at the fact it looks like a rip-off of the tweak called: WiPi.

Could you atleast refer in the article it’s similar to it? i’m not the dev or wipi but if he sees this I hope he contacts you as I find this a bad and it’s seen more and more that good tweaks get copied.

If i’m wrong, please tell me but this is my opinion right now as far as my knowledge goes.

It would’ve been nice if they gave WiPi a mention as a free alternative. However I disagree with the rip-off part of your comment. There are a lot of tweaks on Cydia that do the same thing, I wouldn’t call them rip-offs.

      • Hadek

Yeah indeed, more angry at the fact it isn’t mentioned at all.

    • Sachmach29

The developer said that WiPi is simply a Wi-Fi Picker and Vestigo is a Wi-Fi manager.

    • Niclas

      Is WiPi compatible with 7.1?

I hate that you cannot browse through the GOOD JB tweaks in an easy way!

Yes I can filter out themes etc. and end up with 999995151 tweaks,
      4837 ios7.1 compatible,
      1573 actually working,
538 with any f’ing use that might be interesting to anyone other than the developer.

What’s the point of tweaks coming out now. When probably most of us will be getting the iPhone 6 when it comes out in a matter of months.

    • Bjørn

The easy answer to that is iPads.
I will also be getting the iPhone 6, but it will be a while before I switch out my lovely iPad Air.

    • Jamie Tilden

You really shouldn’t have listened to your grade school teachers when they told you there is no such thing as a stupid question.

      • Bob

Damn, why so negative. As the saying you refer to goes, there are no stupid questions, just stupid answers and yours I can indeed confirm to be a stupid answer. Maybe you should have listened? 😛

    • Yes indeed. We will likely lose our prized jailbreaks again for period until the cycle repeats and 8 is jailbroken. The cat&mouse game continues…..

    • A lot of people favour freedom over an up-to-date OS. Sure the continuity and handoff features of iOS 8 are great but everything else is basically something the jailbreak world has had for a long time now like third party keyboard support and Touch ID for all apps. Also not everyone will be getting the iPhone 6 since people tend to upgrade their phone every 2-3 years. I have a 5s so likely won’t be upgrading at all until the iPhone 6s or iPhone 7.

Cool but wipi gets it done for me. I love how you can hold down on the wifi sign in control center, I’d like something like wipi or this with Bluetooth where you can hold down on the Bluetooth sign in cc and it would show the Bluetooth settings

    • Beto Bañuelos

Just install CCControls it can do both,

      • Ethan Humphrey

I’ll try it, but wipi is free, vestigo is not

  • d-roq

I would use this with the ‘double tap left’ of the status bar so it feels like you’re tapping the actual wi-fi icon / carrier 🙂

  • Long needed; nice. Apple should always incorporate the great jewel ideas jailbreakers dream up.
