Search+ shows Spotlight search from anywhere

Search Plus

Search+ is a recently released jailbreak tweak that’s available on the BigBoss repo. It allows you to invoke Spotlight search from anywhere on your iPhone by means of an Activator gesture.

With Search+, you can quickly search the contents of your device while at the Home screen, Lock screen, or while in an app. It’s, by far, one of the easiest ways to search the contents your device. Check out our video review of Search+ after the break.

Search+ is a paid $0.99 tweak, but it comes bundled with a 3-day free trial in order to test it out. When you first install it, and each time you launch its preferences, you’ll be prompted to buy the tweak, but if you tap cancel, you’ll be able to use it for 3-days as a trial.

Inside the preferences, you’ll find several settings. The most important setting is the Activation methods section, which allows you assign an Activator or QuickDo gesture to launch the Spotlight search.

There’s also a kill-switch toggle, a toggle for accessing the tweak on the Lock screen, tap to fold, and other options for customizing the way that tweak works on your device. I recommend turning off the Lock screen access, at least for now, because I found that trying to launch any search result in issues. Trying to launch an app from the Lock causes a crash and a venture into safe mode. Hopefully developer Ma Jun will be able to stamp out the crashing bug in a future update.

Again, you can try Search+ right now free of charge by means of the free 3-day trial. This is a good thing, because the tweak was pretty unstable during my testing, even with its most recent update.
