How to quickly access synced iCloud tabs on iPhone with CloudLover

CloudLover

CloudLover is a new jailbreak tweak that allows you to easily access your synced iCloud tabs. This tweak primarily exists because the stock method of accessing your iCloud tabs is much too cumbersome to do on a regular basis, so of course, jailbreak developers had to remedy the situation.

CloudLover

The normal method for accessing your iCloud tabs, which are basically just open tabs in Safari synced across all of your Apple devices, involves going deep into your bookmarks infrastructure. CloudLover allows you to perform a simple tap and hold gesture to navigate straight there.

CloudLover is a super simple tweak that can be configured within the Settings app. There are two options available in CloudLover’s preferences, one for linking the Bookmarks Button, and one for linking the Tabs button. Both of these buttons reside at the bottom of Safari’s browser, and both can be linked to your iCloud tabs by utilizing a simple tap and hold gesture. You can choose to enable one, the other, or both.

CloudLover — unlike a similar tweak called CloudTabs+ — is available free of charge on Cydia’s ModMyI repo. They both do the exact same thing, but CloudLover is free, and features settings to enable tap and hold access from the Tabs button as well. Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Oh man.. that .GIF made me feel dizzy :S

Yeah, that GIF animation is a little fast. This would be a nice little tweak if my iCloud tabs actually worked on my jailbroken device. Ever since I jailbroke my device, iCloud tabs have not worked. :(

Have you tried to turn off and on Safari within iCloud.. I can’t see why your iCloud tabs should stop working after a JB :S

Yes i have, on all my devices. :(

Look up “iCloud Tabs Jailbreak” on google. Look around, download iFile, because the solution that worked for me involved deleting some files and suddenly it worked. I was in your very same situation. If I come across the solution I’ll reply back again with a link

I’m pretty sure i tried that as well. :(

Here I grabbed a direct quote from an answer on a Jailbreak QA. It worked for me:

Mine seemed to fix with the update plus 1 or 2 extra steps, let me outline the steps for everyone, hopefully it works. I have an iphone 4S and iPad 3rd gen, both running iOS 6.1. The iphone started syncing immediately following installation of the new evasion update, following reboot. My iPad did not work and I tried the extra steps.

        1) Install evasion update and make sure you reboot 2) Uninstall appsync if you have it installed 3) If still not working use iFile or other file explorer to navigate to var/mobile/Library/caches and delete the following two files: com.apple.mobile.installation.plist com.apple.LaunchServices-045.csstore 4) reboot again. Your apps will be missing, but dont be alarmed, they come back automatically over the first minute or so.

This fixed the issue for me. Hopefully it worked for you.

        What is the envasi0n update?

      • RyanFoley

That’s an old post, so if you’re jail broken you probably already installed it

I got it fixed. I apparently I never completely uninstalled AppSync. I deleted the Springboard icon, but I didn’t remove it via Cydia. After doing that, and re-deleting those cache files, and rebooted, and my iCloud tabs were working again! :)

Huh? It’s two taps. “iCloud Tabs” is the 3rd item in my Bookmarks list. So all this tweak does is save me one tap. Seriously?
