ActiSearch uses Activator gestures to search Cydia, Facebook, YouTube, and more

By , Nov 19, 2012

ActiSearch is a new jailbreak tweak that uses Activator Gestures as a means to invoke searches to some of your favorite websites and social platforms. You can choose to configure a single site to a single Activator gesture, or configure multiple activator gestures with multiple sites.

ActiSearch, as you may have guessed, is a simple to use jailbreak tweak that makes it easy to find what you’re looking for if your desired site is included among the supported list of sites. Take a look at our video walkthrough for the details.

Search options include the following:

  • Baidu
  • Cydia
  • eBay
  • Facebook
  • Google
  • Twitter
  • Wikipedia
  • Yahoo
  • YouTube

If the aforementioned list are sites that you search often, then ActiSearch may be worth taking a look at. It’s $0.99 on Cydia’s ModMyi repo.

Okay so considering most iOS users have adopted iOS 6, and many are on newer devices like the 4S and 5, is jailbreaking a thing of the past? Is it irrelevant?

Great question, but the number of users who have a still jailbroken device on 5.1.1 is very large. Including the number of users who have a tethered jailbroken device on iOS 6. There is a large jailbroken community and there will likely be another jailbreak released for iOS 6, so it is good that there are still tweaks being released.

Yeah well, before getting my iPhone 5, I jailbroke my iPhone 4 on iOS 6 and it was extremely sketchy, but at the same time I never really wanted to revert back to iOS 5.1.1 just to jailbreak. iOS 6 was more appealing, and I think I speak on behalf of a lot of people when I say that.
