If implemented correctly, swipes and gestures can make all your tasks on the iPhone seem far less tedious. That’s why Cydia packages like Activator and App Store apps like Clear are so popular.

Now, folks with jailbroken devices can add swipe-based navigation to their stock Mail app, with Swipe for Mail. The tweak enables you to browse through your inbox by swiping across your screen…

It’s not like the standard method of sifting through your inbox is difficult — there are up and down arrows that allow you to go to the next/previous message. But if you could pull off the same action by swiping left/right across your device’s screen, why not?

Swipe for Mail doesn’t add any additional icons to your springboard, and there aren’t any settings to mess with Just install it and go. You can download Swipe for Mail from the ModMyi repo, in Cydia, for free.

What do you guys think of Swipe for Mail?

It’s good, but doesn’t work with emails wider than the screen of the iDevice (4S at least).

  • I wonder how this works in tandem with zephyr…

  • Can’t find it…Not listed in ModMyI repo…

  • This – uh – this can be done on Android phones already. I kind of prefer the “up and down arrow” method, if I’m honest.
