Fixed: iPhone Stuck On Apple Logo

Sometimes when jailbreaking an iPhone or after installing a jailbreak app, your iPhone will get stuck on reboot, or will hang on the Apple logo. This problem happened to me before and it was kind of a nightmare. In order to get your iPhone back on track, you will have to put it in DFU mode (Device Firmware Update mode). This will help you restore your iPhone without loading the OS first.

Putting you iPhone into DFU mode should be used as a last resort if your iPhone is either stuck on the Apple logo or keeps rebooting.

1. Connect your iPhone to iTunes.

2. Hold the Home button and the Power button at the same time for 10 seconds.

3. After exactly 10 seconds, release the Power button but keep holding the Home button for 10 seconds or until iTunes pops up a message saying that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. At this point, click OK, then click “Restore” in iTunes.

Note that it often takes several attempts to get your iPhone in DFU mode.

    MY IPHONE 3GS ios 4.0.1 which was already jailbroken & unlocked is stuck on apple logo when i hit the reset button. If i put it DFU mode will it update to latest firmwire? Pl help me to correct it with out updating to new firmwire inorder to preserve my JB&unlock.

    the only way you’re able to restore is by either downloading the iOS4.0.1.ipsw and redoing the jailbreak otherwise there is no way at all to do it in order to select the firmware u press the shift key and then restore it will then enable you to select your iPhone FirmWare

      Yes you WILL lose all of your info. But if you back up your ipod before doing so, you can connect to itunes and sync it all back on

    This is not really working for me – I keep getting different error messages from iTunes. I don’t care at this point of whether the phone can be future unlocked or not…..I just want it to work.

      Just connect your ipod to itunes. It will sense your ipod. Once it does click sync. (only works if u backed up your ipod before doing so)

    What if when u click restore it wants u to update to newest version but ur tryin 2 jailbreak and newest version doesnt have a jailbreak yet?

    My 3gs has been stuck in between apple logo and pic of battery for weeks now after a redsnow jailbreak…..it will not power off, or go into recovery (dfu) mode at all….please help….

    ok, my iphone 3g has the apple logo appearing and disappearing, i have tried to everything listed it, it was not jailbreaked, i downloaded an app from itunes and then this happened, it will not restore, it will not go into dfu mode (according to all the videos i have watched) it will go into restore mode but error 1611 after that. any suggestions?

    Hi, I am facing this peculiar problem here. I decided to sell my iPhone 3G. When I erased everything from my iPhone by going into Settings. But after that it got stuck into apple iPhone logo screen and a rotating circle below that. And when I searched internet for this problem I came to know that after entering DFU mode I can come out of this issue. But my phone is not coming into DFU mode either :(
    I’ve tried so many times since last 5 days but I am not able to enter DFU mode.
    Can you or any one please help. I would be thankful.

      I have the described problem but I am not sure about how to redo the jailbreak I have – I didn’t do it on my own…is it easy to redo it or is there another way to restore the iphone without loosing the jailbreak?

    Hi, I have iphone 4, was on 4.01 with jailbreakme I’ve had jb working fine for ages. I wanted to ug fw to 4.32 as several apps in installous need 4.2+, tried ug fw in itunes after backing up, it failed at about 80%.. and have the itunes logo with lead. Have put in DFU, itunes recognises recovery mode.. recovery then fails at the firmware stage after verifiy iphone software at like 90% stage with various unknown error codes including 1611.
    Tried the above several times with reboots and diff ports. Any advice appreciated thanks in advance.

    Just removed any apple.com line from “hosts file” and the restore worked :D :D and redsnow worked after. now downloading pkgbackup and sailing through! thanks all :) and specially scheezo lol

    FIXED my phone! This post is awesome!!! Puneet, that was my EXACT problem, but I hooked it up to the computer, let it go to the apple logo, then started by pushing the home button, then the power/lock button for 10sec ignoring what was on the phone’s screen, it turned off during my count. before the 10 seconds was up, when I was done counting to the 10 seconds, I let the power/lock button go, and it went into DFU mode just fine!

    I have an iphone 3g. As it’s getting hanged on sometimes i tried to restore it and it’s dead. I tried jailbreaking the phone with several tools available over the internet and that seems to be a success using redsn0w with an old firmware version. But after i find the message ‘jailbreaking the data’ on my phone’s screen, it is asking me to connect to itunes and there comes an end with a message error numbered 1015 that the firmware cannot be updated. Please help me with a solution what to do as i cannot stop using my iphone. Thank you very much.

    ok, so i cracked my digitizer. i bought a replacement. replaced the damn thing. but when i was done putting in the screen, it was just stuck on the apple screen. can someone please help me out. i already tried to restore it, itunes does recognise it and takes me threw the whole process of restoring it but when its done, it stays in the apple screen… please help me out..

    I followed the directions on “http://www.iphonedownloadblog.com/redsn0w/” when it gets done the apple logo gets stuck then I follow these directions and the phone gets reset back to it origional configuration. Not jailbroken. Did this proceedure twice and the same thing happens. what an i doing wrong? How do i jail break my phone?

    I need help. I went to reset all my settings as im selling my Iphone, but it stuck on the apple logo.

    I have put it in Itunes and installed new software, but says it cant do it has iphone has error 1015.

    I looked this up, but i still cant get it too work.

    Have i broke it totally? Does anyone have any ideas what i can do next as all itunes say is that it wont detect iphone becuase of error.

    Really worried, It was previously Jailbroke. From Orange to T Mobile.

    Kim try use Recboot or Tiny Umbrella to kick it out of recovery mode and see if it works then if can restore the phone to the newest IOS.
