Hacker and unc0ver lead developer Pwn20wnd pushed the 39th beta to the unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release on Sunday for public testing with a whole truckload of bug fixes and improvements.
The update was announced this afternoon via Twitter, linking to Pwn20wnd’s official GitHub repository with a full changelog detailing what’s new in the update:
PsychoTea’s new machswap kernel exploit for A7-A11 devices running iOS 11.0-12.1.2 has been recognized as a seriously fast and reliable exploit for modern jailbreak tools. In fact, it’s much smoother than some of those that are already being used, such as v3ntex by tihmstar.
A Tweet shared over the weekend by hacker and unc0ver lead developer Pwn20wnd appears to praise the machswap exploit, and furthermore reveals that the hacker is actively implementing it into the unc0ver jailbreak tool:
In case you missed it, renowned hacker PsychoTea released a noteworthy kernel exploit called machswap for A7-A9 devices running iOS 11.0-12.1.2 on Friday. But rather than slamming on the brakes at the realization of his new exploit, the hacker instead went for the accelerator pedal; consequently, we now have a new and improved exploit that seems viable for jailbreaking.
In a Tweet shared just this weekend, we learn that the machswap exploit has picked up official support for A10-A11 devices in addition to those A7-A9 devices that were previously supported. That said, the machswap exploit is now viable for most devices that can run iOS 12:
There’ve been so many kernel exploit releases for the iOS platform as of late that our heads are still spinning, but that’s pleasant news if you’re a jailbreak aficionado, because it gives our respected jailbreak tool developers more resources to work with.
The latest kernel exploit reportedly comes by way of hacker PsychoTea, and it has been named machswap. The exploit appears to be viable on all A7-A9 devices running iOS 11.0-12.1.2, which could make it a worthwhile candidate for modern jailbreak tools such as Electra or unc0ver.
The Sileo Team pushed another update for the Sileo beta preview on Friday, officially bringing the pre-release package manager’s version number up to 0.8b4.
A Tweet shared by the Sileo Team Friday morning describes everything that’s new in the latest iteration:
Hacker and unc0ver lead developer Pwn20wnd revised the unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release again on Thursday with a slew of bug fixes and improvements. The latest version of the unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release is now beta version 38.
Pwn20wnd announced the update via Twitter Thursday morning, noting that it would implement fixes to the v1ntex exploit, among other things:
Pwn20wnd began preparing 4K device support for the iOS 12-centric unc0ver jailbreak tool over the weekend, and while the bulk of that support seems to be complete, a few quirks stil remain.
With that in mind, Pwn20wnd has revised the unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release Wednesday afternoon to beta version 37 with at least “partial” support for 4K devices:
Hacker and unc0ver lead developer Pwn20wnd revised the unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release again on Tuesday with a bevy of refinements. The latest version of the unc0ver v3.0.0 jailbreak tool is now beta number 36.
Pwn20wnd broke the news about the new beta via Twitter just this afternoon, adding that it would greatly improve the reliability of the iOS 12 jailbreak:
Hacker and unc0ver lead developer Pwn20wnd revised the unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release on Monday to beta 34 to reinstate the changes that were previously pulled from beta 33 for further testing and to implement more bug fixes and improvements.
Pwn20wnd announced the revised unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release just this morning via Twitter:
Citing the changelog on the jailbreak tool’s GitHub repository, unc0ver v3.0.0 beta 33 encompasses the following changes:
02/25/2019 - v3.0.0~b34 was released for public testing with the following changes:
- Fix the root cause of the "Reload System Daemons" failures on iOS 12
- Add an apt lists cache file to ease load on repositories
As it would seem, today’s minor revision fixes a known error on jailbroken iOS 12 handsets and incorporates a cache file that should help reduce the strain on the repository servers. Consequently, repositories should load more quickly and with fewer errors after jailbreaking.
It should be noted that the unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release is still a beta, and while it might be tempting to hop onboard right now, we’d strongly advise waiting for the official public release to prevent any possible bugs from manifesting and because not all devices are supported yet (this includes A7-A8 and A12 devices).
Those already jailbroken on iOS 12 with the unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release are being advised to download and run this update as soon as possible to take full advantage of the new features and improvements.
The latest public release of the unc0ver jailbreak tool is v2.2.6 with support for iOS 11.0-11.4 beta 4 – the unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release is the only iteration that supports iOS 11.4-11.4.1. Both versions of the unc0ver jailbreak tool can be had from Pwn20wnd’s official GitHub repository.
If you’re not already on a jailbreakable version of iOS 12, then be advised that iOS 12.1.1 beta 3 is still being signed, which means you can still downgrade to it via iTunes. You can use IPSW.me to check the signing status of any firmware version before attempting a downgrade via iTunes.

It was just recently shared that Pwn20wnd was working on 4K device support (A7-A8) for the unc0ver iOS 12.0-12.1.2 jailbreak, but that hasn’t stopped the hacker from performing routine maintenance to ensure the long-term stability of your jailbreak.
Pwn20wnd has just pushed beta 33 of the unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release with a bevy of bug fixes and improvements concerning the tool’s newfangled iOS 12 support. The hacker announced the update via Twitter Sunday morning:
It was only a few days ago that hacker and unc0ver lead developer Pwn20wnd dropped the 29th beta of the unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release with full-fledged Cydia and Cydia Substrate support for A8X-A11 devices running iOS 12.0-12.1.2. But the release left many devices, especially of the A7-A8 and A12 varieties, unsupported until further notice.
Fortunately, A7-A8 device users can now rest assured that Pwn20wnd is working to support these handsets. The hacker appears to have changed his Twitter name over the weekend to “Pwn20wnd is preparing 4K support for unc0ver,” an indication that several unsupported handsets are about to become supported:
