iOS 5.1.1 jailbreak to be released at the upcoming Hack In The Box conference?

pod2g has been a busy man these days, and he has again updated his blog with some interesting information regarding the upcoming Hack In The Box security conference in Amsterdam.

The conference is slated to happen between May 21 through May 25 and will feature a variety of speakers and backing by high profile sponsors like Microsoft and RIM.

The real interesting part about all of this is that apparently there will be some big news related to jailbreaking unveiled at this year's conference. Could it have anything to do with the upcoming 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak?

TinyUmbrella 5.11.00 out with support for iOS 5.1.1

As most of you know, Apple released an update to iOS last week, bringing the firmware to 5.1.1. The new software doesn't contain much more than bug fixes, but if you updated to it, you'll want to save your SHSH blobs.

Luckily you can do that with the latest version of TinyUmbrella. NotCom has just released TU 5.11.00 with support for the latest version of iOS. And if you haven't been saving your SHSH blobs, you might want to start...

RedSn0w updated to support iOS 5.0.1 build 9A406

Yesterday, the Dev Team released one of the biggest updates to their RedSn0w utility in recent memory. The new version included a feature that allows A5 device owners to downgrade their firmware to one that is jailbreakable.

But those with an iPhone 4S who only had SHSH blobs saved from iOS 5.0.1 (build 9A406) haven't been able to use the new feature to downgrade. Until now. RedSn0w 0.9.11b2 brings support for the forgotten firmware...

Today has been a great day for jailbreakers. Earlier this morning we saw the release of RedSn0w 0.9.11b1 bring the ability to downgrade the firmware of A5 devices, and now a new version of Seas0nPass has become available.

For those who aren't familiar with the software, Seas0nPass is essentially the equivalent of RedSn0w for the Apple TV. And with version 0.8.4, you can now jailbreak your second-generation ATV on the latest firmware...

And the good news just keeps rolling in... hot of the heels of pod2g's new iPad (iPad 3) untethered jailbreak video, he's now confirming that his jailbreak works with Apple's newly released iOS 5.1.1 firmware as well.

This means that anyone who buys a new iPad, iPhone 4S, or iPad 2 with 5.1.1 pre-installed, or anyone who accidentally updated to iOS 5.1.1 without saving their SHSH blobs will still be able to jailbreak once the tool is released...

It's finally here folks, the official downgrade tool for A5 devices!

Indeed, you can now downgrade your iPhone 4S, iPad 2, or new iPad (iPad 3) with the latest version of RedSn0w 0.9.11b1. Downgrading will allow you to perform an untethered jailbreak on your iPhone 4S, or iPad 2 running iOS 5.0.1 firmware.

The Dev Team has just released a major update to its popular RedSn0w software, bringing the jailbreak utility to version 0.9.11b1. The update includes a new feature that will allow users to downgrade the firmware on their A5 devices.

Talk regarding the iOS 5.1 jailbreak has really picked up in the last 24 hours. Shortly after pod2g announced that he was running an untethered jailbreak on his third-generation iPad yesterday, he posted a video of the hack.

But all of this talk can be a bit of a tease without any information on when the exploit will be available to the public. So knowing that, pod2g gave us a little bit of information last night on the ETA of the 5.1 jailbreak...

Earlier today we reported about pod2g's progress on the new iPad 5.1 untethered jailbreak. It seems that we are now closer than ever to seeing this jailbreak released as pod2g teased us with a demo video of the untethered jailbreak in action.
