Sileo beta preview receives minor update with support for depiction tint colors, cache fixes

The Sileo Team announced a minor incremental update to the Sileo public beta on Sunday with repository-related enhancements and fixes, formally bringing the alternative iOS 11-centric package manager up to version 0.5b1.

The Sileo Team announced the update via Twitter Sunday morning, adding that it would clear the cache correctly to prevent unwanted disk space usage and add support for tint colors on jailbreak package depictions:

Unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release revised with rootfs remount support on iOS 12 & more

Hacker and unc0ver lead developer Pwn20wnd appears to have been busy this weekend, revising the unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release jailbreak tool at least five more times since Saturday afternoon. Betas 22-26 include the brand-new rootfs remount that surfaced yesterday afternoon compliments of hacker and software tinkerer @MiscMisty.

Pwn20wnd took to Twitter this morning to announce the bulk of those revisions and elucidate what they represent:

Jailbreak tweaks of the week: LockAnim, Siliqua 2, TwitterDarkMode, and more

Jailbreak Tweaks to check out

It can be challenging to keep up with the sudden surge of jailbreak news as of late, but that’s what we’re here for.

If you’re ready to trick out that jailbroken iPhone or iPad of yours, then you’ve come to the right place. This jailbreak tweak roundup will recap all the releases pushed through Cydia this week, starting with our favorites and ending with an outline of the rest afterward.

A rootfs remount is being released for iOS 12, raising hope for a normal iOS 12 jailbreak with Cydia

Avid jailbreakers who are on iOS 12.0-12.1.2 currently have one of two options: 1) use rootlessJB 3.0, a developer-centric, SSH-based rootless jailbreak without Cydia; or 2) wait for a full-featured jailbreak solution with Cydia (like Electra or unc0ver) to surface. Fortunately, those who are stuck in the latter boat could be one step closer to jailbreaking as of this weekend.

Hackers @MiscMisty and @Lakr223 took to Twitter early Saturday morning to display a proof of concept of a working iOS 12.x-oriented rootfs remount. But perhaps more importantly, they noted how they would be releasing it very shortly.

Unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release revised with v1ntex-related bug fixes and improvements

It was only yesterday that hacker and unc0ver lead developer Pwn20wnd added official support for tihmstar’s v1ntex exploit to the unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release, but another revision issued just this morning delivers some important v1ntex-related bug fixes and refinements.

Citing the changelog from Pwn20wnd’s official GitHub repository, the 21st beta of the unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release sports the following changes:

Siliqua 2 lets you customize your AirPods’ gesture system

A set of AirPods can go a long way when you’re listening to music or watching a movie from your iPhone or iPad, but could Apple’s flagship wireless earbuds be improved with user-configurable software? If you answered yes to that question and you have a jailbroken handset, then you’re in for a treat.

Developer LaughingQuoll has just released Siliqua 2, the successor of a popular jailbreak tweak called Siliqua that launched just under two years ago. With Siliqua 2, you can customize your AirPods’ gesture system, which empowers you with additional control over your media playback directly from the peripheral.

Colorize the Twitter app however you like with TwitterDarkMode

Twitter’s official app supports a feature called Night Mode that can give the app a dark-colored makeover on demand; but compared to some other apps, this ‘dark mode’-esque feature leaves a lot to be desired.

Fortunately, iOS developer Chloeeisoaky recognized these shortcomings and responded to them with the release of a new free jailbreak tweak called TwitterDarkMode.

New revision to unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release adds support for tihmstar’s v1ntex exploit

In what appears to be a pleasant surprise for the jailbreak community on Friday, hacker and unc0ver lead developer Pwn20wnd revised the unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release to its 20th beta with official support for tihmstar’s voucher_swap-like v1ntex exploit.

Pwn20wnd shared the news via Twitter just this afternoon, sharing the usual links to the official download page and to the /r/jailbreak sub-Reddit:

Change your iPhone’s display resolution with Upscale

You can change the resolution of your computer monitor on demand, so why shouldn’t the same logic apply to the display on your smartphone?

It seems like a ridiculous limitation, and if you were thinking along the same lines, then you might enjoy a free jailbreak tweak called Upscale by iOS developers bd452 and Julio Verne.
