We know that Apple is going to announce the next major version of its mobile operating system, iOS, on day one of this year's Worldwide Developers Conference on June 6, 2022. Before that, though, the rumor mill isn't quite done giving us some hints of the things that might take place in the near future. Like when the first public beta seed of iOS 16 may arrive.
Among the expected iOS 16 features should be new iPhone interaction modes and some “fresh new apps,” but don't expect a major face-lift this year.

Before the launch of iOS 15, there was a report that stated Apple was working on the idea of letting iOS 14 users stay on that particular version of the mobile operating system rather than upgrading to the newest version. Apple intended to release security updates for the older OS, and the new features would remain with the new software. But, it was an option, especially for the folks who aren't fans of upgrading to the newest version of the mobile OS as soon as it launches.
With 2021 about ready to wrap up, the rumor mill will likely start ramping things up regarding future products and software releases. So of course we will start to hear more about iOS 16 and what that future update will bring to the table. Or, in this case, the devices it might not support.
