Hacker and unc0ver lead developer Pwn20wnd pushed a small update to the iOS 11-centric unc0ver jailbreak tool over the weekend, bringing its version number up to 2.2.5.
Citing the changelog on Pwn20wnd’s official GitHub repository, v2.2.5 is a minor update that includes improvements to the jailbreak tool’s built-in diagnostics. More specifically, they now include the log file, a useful thing to have when troubleshooting jailbreak errors:
The Electra Team pushed two subsequent updates to the Electra jailbreak tool Thursday evening with bug fixes and improvements, bringing the version number of iOS 11-centric tool to 1.2.6. The updates came just hours after Electra picked up support for tihmstar’s new v1ntex exploit.
The Electra Team announced the new updates via Twitter, adding that they would resolve problems users were experiencing on A7 and A8 devices concerning post-exploitation failures on iOS 11.2-11.4.1 and app crashing issues on iOS 11.4.x:
It didn’t take long after tihmstar released his voucher_swap-like v1ntex exploit with support for 4K devices, for the Electra Team to roll out an update to Electra with official support for A7[X] and A8[X] devices. Version 1.2.3 is now the latest iteration of Electra available to the public.
The Electra Team made the announcement on Twitter Thursday morning, explaining that they had replaced tihmstar’s threadm1ll exploit with the v1ntex variety for A7[X] and A8[X] devices, a move that makes Electra universally-supported among all devices running iOS 11.0-11.4.1:
Just a couple of days ago, security researcher Brandon Azad released his voucher_swap exploit for 16K devices (A9[X], A10[X], A11[X]), but the exploit didn’t support 4K devices (A7[X], A8[X]), resulting in some devices being unsupported by the recent updates to the Electra and unc0ver jailbreaks.
On a more positive note, hacking guru tihmstar seems to have a solution. Thursday morning, he Tweeted his version of the voucher_swap exploit, subtly named v1ntex. Astonishingly, the exploit supports 4K devices, whereas Brandon Azad’s exploit did not:
Wednesday saw two separate jailbreak tools (Electra and unc0ver) pick up support for iOS 11.4.x, so one might be inclined to say that it’s been a decent day for the jailbreak community. But wait… there’s more!

Pwn20wnd made the announcements via Twitter Wednesday afternoon, noting that the unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release is based off unc0ver v2.2.0 but with support for Brandon Azad’s voucher_swap exploit for A9/A9X/A10/A10X/A11 devices running iOS 11.4-11.4.1 in addition to the preexisting support for iOS 11.0-11.4 beta 3:
On Wednesday, the Electra Team released an updated version of the iOS 11-centric Electra jailbreak tool. Version 1.2.0 adds official support for iOS 11.4 and 11.4.1, making it the first public jailbreak tool to officially support these firmware versions.
The Electra Team made the announcement via Twitter, noting that Electra 1.2.0 uses a newer exploit dubbed voucher_swap. This exploit is allegedly more reliable than the traditional multi_path or VFS exploits that users have been relying on for months:

Just over two weeks ago, it became known that hacking guru tihmstar was tinkering with a tfp0 exploit for iOS 11.4-11.4.1 devices of the A10 and earlier variety. But not long after finishing it, he opted not to release it, citing that ‘something cool’ would be coming instead.
Curiously, tihmstar appears to have undergone a change of heart on Tuesday after releasing his exploit to the public, a move that could reinforce existing iOS 11-centric jailbreak tools such as Electra and unc0ver:

Citing the hacker’s official GitHub page, Tuesday’s update marks the fourteenth revision to the unc0ver v2.2.0 pre-release since its initial conception just over a week ago. The new revision appears to incorporate the following changes:
