Make your jailbroken installation of iOS 13 more stable with StopCrashingPls

If you’ve started distinguishing some rather peculiar instabilities after jailbreaking iOS 13, then you may not be alone. iOS developer Adam Demasi of HASHBANG Productions seems to have recognized a similar wave of patterns that urged him to create a hot-fix in the form of a newly released jailbreak tweak called StopCrashingPls.

Citing the brief Cydia description for StopCrashingPls, it was designed as an experimental workaround for iOS 13’s jetsam crash issue. This apparent issue could be exacerbated by certain jailbreak tweak installations, resulting in unwanted battery drain and overall system instability.

If you’ve been following the news lately, then you’ve unquestionably heard about the latest text message bug affecting the iOS platform that can crash or freeze the recipient’s iPhone. Demonstrations of the glitch were published all over YouTube and internet news sources yesterday afternoon, and reveal that characters of the Sindhi language are the primary culprit.

Apple will unquestionably address this issue in a future software update to iOS and iPadOS, but jailbreakers who want to avoid updating to new software releases will be excited to learn that there’s now an unofficial patch by way of a newly released jailbreak tweak dubbed CaptureTheFlag by iOS developer MTAC.

During a recent episode of our podcast, I mentioned that I had overslept that morning due to my iPhone 11 Pro turning itself off overnight. It was positioned perfectly on a wireless charger, with plenty of battery left over from the day before, and it had absolutely no water damage or any other notable hardware concerns. It simply turned itself off, and wouldn't turn back on.

As it turns out, this is just one of those things that happens sometimes to iPhone models X and newer. Luckily, after some stringent googling, I was able to work out an easy fix for it. So I thought it would be helpful if I shared that fix here on iDB in case you are ever unlucky enough to come across this weird bug.
