Official MKBHD wallpapers for iPhone, iPad & desktop vol. 2

In celebration of the MKBHD YouTube channel 6,000,000 subscriber milestone, another official set of crispy wallpapers is featured on the iDB Wallpapers of the Week gallery! Recently named as Creator of the Decade, Marques released a new line of swag via his online merch store to coincide with his subscriber achievement. Taking key details from the new designs, thanks to the help of @CottonBureau, you will find a full collection of wallpapers for iPhone, iPad, and desktop.

The new iPad wallpapers

The new 9.7-inch iPad is a force to be reckoned with, given its new support for Apple Pencil and upgraded chipset. It really begs the question, is an iPad Pro worth twice the price? For example, if you are looking for an IPS screen, second generation Touch ID, or a True Tone display then you will want to upgrade. However, with pencil support and a great processor, the new iPad will be the device of choice for many more customers. Advertising for the device includes some incredible images, that I assume were created with the Apple Pencil. Naturally, we want them as wallpapers. Look no further.

What you might not know is that you can score a bunch of sweet swag from his online merch store, like the dope shirt pictured above.

We teamed up with Marques to offer this wallpaper pack inspired by his entire lineup, downloadable for your Apple devices.

Abstract wallpapers: vivid contrasting colors [pack 3]

Abstract and geometric patterned wallpapers were always top performing collections on our Wallpapers of the Week section. Since the iPhone 8 and iPhone X launched with impressive new HDR screens, interest in these categories is even stronger. Over the past months, we have featured vividly colored HDR-style wallpapers and today is another page in the diary. You will be happy to know our featured artist, iDB Best of Wallpaper chart topper, @AR72014 made versions for iPhone X and legacy ratios for iPhone 8 Plus, or below. This is the largest single collection of his wallpapers ever to be included in our gallery.

Wallpapers of the week: neon signs

The new iPhone 8 and X screens have an incredible ability to highlight bright spots in imagery. Naturally, the iPhone X's OLED screen is the best example of this capability. With that in mind, I stumbled across some neon sign photographs. Bright colors of the neon signage against dark contrasting background highlights the impressive new screens. These original photographs were curated via unsplash, the free photography site, which I highly recommend browsing.

My locked Apple Watch Edition eBay adventure

eBay is the Wild West of shopping. There are some rules, but mostly its a wasteland of objects and you can call in the Marshall, to continue my terrible pun, if you need to report someone or get your money back. It is not as bad as Craigslist. I generally stay away from both.

However, my desire for a shiny white Apple Watch Edition and my unwillingness to pay $1,350 for a new one, drove me into the world's largest yard sale, eBay. After purchasing the Apple Watch Edition Series 2, it was a full three weeks before I was able to use it, thanks to the disaster that is Apple Authentication Lock. The saga has me swearing to never order a used Apple device again.

Apple ‘Let’s take a field trip’ media event wallpapers

Friday, March 16, Apple sent invitations to the media and k-12 staff for an upcoming event hosted at Lane Tech College Prep High School in Chicago. The event will be held on Tuesday, March 27 at 10:00AM local time.

It will be a time to "hear creative new ideas for teachers and students," according to the invitation, which exclaims "let's take a field trip." A calligraphy Apple logo adorns the simplistic invitation design. No doubt, there will be plenty of conversation about Apple famously existing at the crossroads of technology and liberal arts, as heralded by Steve Jobs.

WWDC 2018 iPhone wallpapers

On Tuesday, March 13, Apple announced the forthcoming WWDC 2018, held June 4-8 in San Jose. The annual event announces updates to macOS, iOS, and tvOS. Sometimes, we get to see some updated hardware too!

As with all Apple events, a media invitation is sent out to the community, at which point everyone attempts to find clues in the design. More importantly, the iDB wallpaper group gets to work, designing invitation-inspired wallpapers for your iOS devices.

Colorful geometric lines wallpapers

Continuing with one of our most popular wallpaper categories, today's Wallpapers of the Week are geometric patterns. These abstract, yet mathematically beautiful images are set on a gradient background. Because of their design these images will make excellent Lock or Home screen wallpapers. Importantly, we have received many communications from readers looking for exact dimension wallpapers for their iPhone 6/s/7/8. Today, is your day. The following collection is sized specifically for you!

Wallpapers of the week: Sun focal point

Although the cold continues, Spring is creeping through the cold of Winter with slightly longer days and some warmer temperatures. We look toward the sun in these original photographs that will light up our iPhone screens. Sourced from popular open source image gallery unsplash, these Sun focused wallpapers are incredibly crisp and perfect for your handset.

Liquid wallpapers for iPhone

Since the iPhone X launch videos and marketing promos included a liquid-filled screen, wallpapers of the same genre became quite popular on the site. Today is another submission in the same category, with extremely vivid swirling color schemes and a little sparkle showing through. While the genre has only become recently popular, @VasjenKatro created these original works before the iPhone X was even announced.

My love-hate relationship with HomePod

When Apple announced HomePod, the news did not really move the needle for my excitement. I wasn't induced to a frenzy, which is the case for most other Apple announcements. Okay, Apple is going to try their hand at a speaker. It's not the first time, and will not be their last. But, as an imbedded Sonos customer, there just wasn't anything that piqued my interest with this forthcoming $350 device.

When HomePod finally came to market little more than a week ago, I read review after review that immediately gushed over the device's premium audio quality. No surprise, I had to go get one on launch weekend, but, I am not sure I intend to keep it.
