A classic in the wallpaper world, the gradient image an incredible background makes. Smooth transitions between colors is a very difficult accomplishment. File quality, type, resolution, and color choice is critical to preventing banding and pixelation. In this “Folding Boundary” gradient collection, sunrise is the moment of inspiration.
Folding Boundary gradient wallpaper for iPhone
The featured downloads today are from color and presentation artist @Damonxart. The account regularly features images of physical art installments and, often, additional downloads as images, making for great wallpapers.
Damonxart posted a series of wallpaper downloads titled “Folding Boundary,” which are tied to an early post describing a sunrise scene. A post on X outlines a flight from Taiwan to Milan, where the sunrise was captured as vivid blues and reds came across the sky. Below is the series of images that led to the gradient files. The post describes the scene as the “perfect natural gradient” being “unbelievably beautiful.”
Featured below are the four gradients that were created as inspiration from the sunrise scene. Additionally, an original photo can be utilized as a background, including the plane wing for authenticity.
My favorite is featured first, with a strong pink gradient, just below the folded boundary. While the artist makes no claim this is related to the iPhone Duo, I cannot help but draw a similarity to the UI interaction when iPhone Duo is folded. On the iPhone Duo screen, a folding boundary creates a perspective, blurred view when flipping the screens open and closed.
