Textured wallpapers make for incredible iPhone backgrounds, with their subtle skeuomorphic designs. Gradient images utilize smoothly transitioning colors to create a mood. Both of these design schema are utilized in this collection. Very tiny particles are used in a massive quantity to create a pixelated image that appear as an individual, the name suggests, “Speck.”
“Speck” granulated texture wallpaper for iPhone
A granulated design shows as individual pixelated colors when zoomed in; however, at a macro view, each textured image appears as an undulating wave. When I first stumbled across these on X, I was reminded of a silken sheet, perhaps haphazardly tossed across a surface.
The gradients create lighter and darker areas within the image, giving an appearance of raised and lowered surfaces. each individual ‘speck’ of color, finely tuned to create a design that is different at both the micro and macro levels.
Below is a five image sample of a larger 16 wallpaper collection offered on X by @RshBfn. My favorite of the collection is placed first in the gallery. A pink speckled experience with both black and highlighted areas provide a stark, contrasted image that ignites on the iPhone OLED screen.
