Our solar system is a design full of inspiration. With a massive star providing warmth and light, eight (nine?) planets orbit around the sun and one another. In this edition of iDB’s Wallpapers of the Week, five backgrounds take a creative look at those planets and abstractly illustrate their path through the system. Solar system, space wallpapers for iPhone
The iDB Wallpapers of the Week collection features individual artists every Sunday. Our solar system collection was presented by @papers_app on X. The account regularly features new downloads so give it a follow if you are looking for more, creative images for your Apple devices.
I am particularly fond of these new additions to the Space Wallpapers collection. My favorite is featured first, depicting each planet on its own orbit around the fireball sun. In order, the planets are illustrated with design resembling the actual surface of each spherical orb. While the subject matter is non-fiction, artistic liberties of the planets, their path around the sun, and the location in orbit is simply a fun design decision to create an awesome wallpaper.
This is followed very closely by the gradient, colored bands that represent the planets’ order from the sun, being next in line for best design.
