A new collection of “retro-inspired” wallpapers was released by @BasicAppleGuy, that captures various rippling color bands. The colors, along with the design, harken back to a more nostalgic time, that perhaps had you slapping quarters down on your favorite arcade machine to save your place in line. The lo-fi gradients and rich colors make incredible wallpapers for iPhone, iPad, or up to 6K desktops.
”Sound.wav” wallpapers
In this edition of iDB’s Wallpapers of the Week, we are featuring digital artist BasicAppleGuy. The “Sound.wav” collection draws inspiration from visualizations of sound waves, with a nod toward the retro .wav audio file type extension. Clever and appreciated. You may have found yourself playing .wav files on desktop apps like Winamp.
The full collection offers iPhone, iPad, and 6K desktop versions in: blue; green; orange; purple; red; sky blue; silver; and yellow. Each color is provided in two variants, for light and dark modes. Sum total of the original wallpaper pack is an astounding 48 images. As a bonus, the light and dark modes are also downloadable in a dynamic HEIC file for macOS, which will change based on your settings. This technically adds another eight, for a collection of 56 files.
