ZAGG sub-brand mophie on Monday announced an all-new lineup of portable powerstations ranging from big to small in a move to outdo all previous powerstation models.

While mophie has always been a one-hit wonder brand when it comes to mobile power accessories, the brand seems to be moving in the right direction with its latest lineup. The newest powerstations feature premium build materials that feel wonderful in the hand, including a durable anodized aluminum exterior shell and soft-touch endcaps where users will find all relevant controls and the I/O.
More importantly, however, is that the focus of this refresh seems to be improving on the energy density and charging speeds when compared to previous models. There are four new sizes available, including:
- Powerstation Mini (5,000mAh) – $29.95
- Powerstation (10,000mAh) – $39.95
- Powerstation Pro (20,000mAh) – $59.95
- Powerstation Ultra (25,000mAh) – $99.95
The offerings include the Powerstation Mini with a 5,000mAh internal battery that rivals the size of a lipstick, the Powerstation with a 10,000mAh internal battery that is comparable to a deck of cards, and two larger options including the 20,000mAh Powerstation Pro and 25,000mAh Powerstation Ultra, which are give or take the size of a small tablet with a rugged case installed on it.
The Powerstation Ultra is more than just a larger power bank compared to the PowerStation Pro – it also features a maximum output of 140W, which is the maximum charging speed of Apple’s top-of-the-line 16-inch MacBook Pro. By comparison, the Powerstation Pro offers up to 45W of charging output, the Powerstation offers up to 30W of charging output, and the Powerstation Mini offers up to 20W of charging output.
Both the Powerstation Ultra features two 100W USB-C ports and one 140W USB-C port, the Powerstation Pro features two 45W USB-C ports and one 20W USB-C port, the Powerstation features dual 30W USB-C ports, and the Powerstation mini features a single 20W USB-C port. When multiple ports on any of the new Powerstation batteries are used at the same time, speed throttling may occur to allocate resources to the secondary port.
Obviously, the smaller options are ideal for iPhones and smaller gadgets, including digital cameras. If you need more power for a tablet or a laptop, then I’d recommend picking up one of the bigger offerings, as you’ll get far more use out of them, and they’re easily packed into any backpack. Convenient LED charging indicators near the power ports let users know the current charge status of any Powerstation device.
Most of the upgraded Powerstation lineup will be available at mophie’s website and at Best Buy starting in early April, but the largest of the bunch, the Powerstation Ultra, will be available starting in late May.
