TrollInstallerX v1.0.2 finalizes support for arm64 devices running iOS 17.0 betas 1-4

The latest installation method for installing TrollStore, dubbed TrollInstallerX by iOS developer @alfiecf_dev, received another important update on Monday that brought the utility up to version 1.0.2.

TrollInstallerX v1.0.2 released.

In an announcement post shared to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), @alfiecg_dev noted that the latest update finalized support for iOS & iPadOS 17.0 betas 1, 2, 3, and 4 for arm64 devices only, which are effectively checkm8-vulnerable devices that lack the requirement of a Secure Page Table Monitor (SPTM) bypass.

Although some arm64e devices don’t require a STPM bypass, TrollInstallerX doesn’t yet support those arm64e devices because of nuanced reasons. Additionally, this newfangled support is only for the aforementioned beta versions of iOS & iPadOS 17.0; the final release of 17.0 remains unsupported at this time as there isn’t yet an installation method for that particular build.

TrollInstallerX is a unique TrollStore installation method because it uses the Kernel File Descriptor (KFD) exploit and the dmaFail PPL bypass to install TrollStore directly onto certain devices without making the user sacrifice a system app, such as Tips, for the persistence helper like previous installation methods have required. On devices that don’t support the direct installation method, sacrificing a system app will still be necessary.

TrollInstallerX UI redesign.

TrollInstallerX supports iOS & iPadOS 14.0-16.6.1 on arm64 and arm64e devices, and 17.0 betas 1-4 on arm64 devices. While it’s fast and reliable, it does require that you sideload an app, which means that TrollHelperOTA is still the most convenient TrollStore installation method for devices that support it because it doesn’t require a computer.

If you’re an existing TrollInstallerX user and you would like to install the latest build, then you can acquire it from the developer’s GitHub page and install it over your existing installation using any sideloading method of your choosing.

New or prospective users should obviously download the latest version of TrollInstallerX when using it for the first time, as the latest build is bound to have the latest bug fixes and improvements that benefit the user experience.
