Dopamine jailbreak for iOS 15.0-15.4.1 updated to version 1.1.8 with bug fixes

The Dopamine jailbreak tool for arm64e devices running iOS & iPadOS 15.0-15.4.1 received an update to version 1.1.8 with a a number of bug fixes and improvements.

Lars Fröder announces Dopamine version 1.1.8.

Announced Saturday afternoon via a post shared to X (formerly Twitter) by project lead developer Lars Fröder (@opa334dev), we can gather that Dopamine version 1.1.8 introduces the following changes:

– Fix issues with trustcaching machos that have both old and new ABI arm64e slices
– Fix several bugs in system wide exec(cve/cle/lp/v/vp/vP) hooks, which could cause arguments and environment variables to become malformed
– Fix a path finding bug in execvP hook
– Add missing execl hook

As it would appear, all the changes in this release have been contributed by the RootHide team, which maintains a separate version of the Dopamine jailbreak with the RootHide jailbreak detection bypass utility baked in.

In a follow-up Tweet, Fröder said they’re planning two more updates to Dopamine for the future.

The first is a kfd-based build that will be released as a secondary and non-default build that replaces private techniques with those found in Linus Henze’s Fugu15-Rootful developer jailbreak. There is no ETA for this, but it will help Fröder avoid burning “extra things.”

The second is Dopamine version 2.0, which is a major update panned for the distant future that will bring the kfd exploit to the mainline. This version will add support for iOS & iPadOS versions 15.5 beta 1 through 15.5 beta 3.

Fröder doesn’t expect to release Dopamine version 2.0 this year, so the non-default build will be something of a stop-gap to bridge the two releases.

Since the latest version appears to include tons of bug fixes, but also address the Filza shell, we would recommend it for all existing Dopamine users and anyone who plans to jailbreak with it for the first time. It can be downloaded and installed over your existing jailbreak with the in-app OTA updating mechanism.

If you’re not already using Dopamine, and you’d like to get started, then you can download the latest version from the project’s GitHub page and follow our step-by-step tutorial to get it installed on a compatible device.
