Dopamine iOS 15.0-15.4.1 jailbreak updated to v1.1.7 to help address spinlock panics

The Dopamine jailbreak received an unexpected update to version 1.1.7 this Thursday afternoon with a possible fix for at least some of the reported spinlock panics that users have reported.

Dopamine v1.1.7 announced.

Dopamine lead developer Lars Fröder (@opa334dev) took to X to announce the latest update in a post, which included a link to the project’s GitHub page and a string of additional posts describing the update in numerous ways while crediting @RootHideDev for their help in discovering the workaround that made it possible.

While the update appeared to fix spinlock panics completely at first, Fröder later found that it did not fix all of them. Nevertheless, it still fixed the spinlock panic issues that he experienced while performing userspace reboots, so it’s still an improvement.

To improve your odds of this fix working for you, Fröder recommends rebooting and re-jailbreaking after installing version 1.1.7 update for the changes to take effect.

Dopamine is a rootless jailbreak that supports arm64e (A12-A15) devices running iOS or iPadOS 15.0-15.4.1. It can be sideloaded, but the recommended way to install Dopamine is by perma-signing it with the TrollStore utility so that it never needs to be re-signed.

If you are an existing Dopamine jailbreak user, then you can simply download the latest .ipa file from the GitHub page and install it over your existing installation to reap the benefits of the latest changes. New or prospective users, on the other hand, are recommended to download and install version 1.1.7 from the start.

For those who have not used Dopamine before, we have a dedicated tutorial post for helping you to get started.
