There are occasionally times when you need to find an app’s bundle ID, especially if you use jailbreak tweaks that require this information for customizations to work. But there’s no easy way for an end user to find this information.
If you’re looking for an easier way to find and capture an app’s bundle ID, then a new and free app dubbed Proof by iOS developer ETHN just might suit your needs.
Proof is installed one of two ways: 1) perma-signed with TrollStore on iOS 14.0-15.4.1 (and some 15.5 and 15.6 betas, excluding release candidates); or 2) sideloaded for use with the MacDirtyCow exploit on iOS 15.0-16.1.2.
After installing Proof, you can launch the app and visit the Apps tab to view literally every app on your handset and it’s associated bundle ID, as shown above. The Settings tab contains a Respring button, which obviously gives you a way to respring your handset if needed.
One thing worth noting is that you can tap on any app in the Apps tab to manifest a prompt like the one below:
This prompt includes not only a Dismiss button to close the prompt, but also a Copy button so that you can quickly and easily copy the bundle ID to paste it elsewhere where you might need to use it.
Proof is a nifty application for anyone who needs easier access to apps’ bundle IDs, and it just might be worth taking a look at if that sounds like you. Those interested in giving Proof a try can download it for free from the project’s GitHub page.
