Apple TV+ picks up a kid-friendly series called ‘Hello, Jack! The Kindness Show’

The majority of films, TV series, and documentaries available on Apple TV+ are geared towards adults, but there are some family-friendly options mixed in there. And now the video streaming service is getting another one.

Apple TV+ announced on Tuesday that it has ordered straight to series a new kid-friendly show called Hello, Jack! The Kindness Show, which is geared primarily towards preschoolers. The show will be a live-action entry that focuses on a character named Jack as he tries to inspire kids to show acts of kindness, and show just how these acts can change the world.

The series is created by Jack McBrayer (Phineas and Ferb) and Angela C. Santomero (Blue’s Clues). The series will explore various subjects over the course of its run, including empathy, imagination, playfulness, and much more.

McBrayer himself will be hosting the series.

‘Hello, Jack! The Kindness Show’ is co-created and executive produced by McBrayer and Santomero. The series is produced by Emmy Award-winning 9 Story Media Group (‘Blue’s Clues & You!,’ ‘Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood,’ ‘Karma’s World’) and animated by its Oscar-nominated studio Brown Bag Films (‘Doc McStuffins,’ ‘Vampirina,’ ‘Ada Twist, Scientist’), with Wendy Harris and Vince Commisso serving as executive producers. Emmy Award winner Guy Toubes will serve as showrunner. Junlei Li, the Saul Zaentz senior lecturer in early childhood education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, serves as the kindness and human connection expert on the series.

Hello, Jack! The Kindness Show will also include special guest stars, but today’s announcement doesn’t name drop anyone. Jack will aim to inspire kids to solve problems, using heart and overall kindness.

The series showcases stories where acts of kindness are shown through ‘The Three C’s’ – caring, connecting and cascading – from one person to another.

OK, Go will be supplying the music for the upcoming series.

No premiere date just yet, and Apple didn’t include any banner or promotional art for the upcoming series, either. So this one’s probably a ways out, still.
