If you have a jailbroken iPhone or iPad in your possession and you haven’t yet started colorizing the user interface to stand out from all the other handsets out there, then you’re doing yourself an injustice.
Fortunately, a new free jailbreak tweak called Magma by iOS developer NoisyFlake can help you with this endeavor, as it lets you apply custom colors to the plethora of toggles and shortcuts that you use via the Control Center interface, as shown above.
After you install Magma, you’ll find a dedicated preference pane in the Settings app where you can configure the tweak to your liking:
Here, you can:
- Toggle the tweak on demand
- Select custom colors for each of the following:
- AirDrop
- Airplane Mode
- Bluetooth
- Cellular Data
- Personal Hotspot
- Wi-Fi
- AirPlay
- Do Not Disturb
- Do Not Disturb (Car Mode)
- Flashlight
- Location Services
- Low Power Mode
- Mute
- Record Screen
- Rotation Lock
- Timer
- Display Brightness
- Volume
- Reset all settings to their defaults
The developer includes a respring button at the top right of the interface that you can use to save your changes on demand. You should use this every time you make changes to ensure they’re appended to your device.
Magma works great for any jailbroken iOS 11 or 12 device, but it will especially complement any themes that you might have installed if you aren’t rocking the native app icons on your Home screen.
If you’re interested in trying Magma for yourself, then you can download it for free from NoisyFlake’s beta repository in Cydia. If you’re not already using this repository, then you’ll need to add it to Cydia using the following steps:
1) Launch the Cydia app and go to the Sources tab.
2) Tap on the Edit button and then tap on the Add button.
3) In the text field of the pop-up that appears, type in the following repository URL:
https://apt.noisyflake.com/
4) Tap on the Add Source button and wait for the repository to load into Cydia.
5) Now you should be able to search for and install Magma from Cydia.
