Apple to host one-day shopping event on Black Friday

Apple late Monday updated its website with a new page teasing its upcoming Black Friday sale. The page shows the above graphic, along with links to gift ideas, gift cards, and a section for locating your nearest Apple Store. The company also notes that two-day shipping will be free on Friday for in-stock items ordered by 5:00 p.m.

We don’t expect Apple’s Black Friday event to upstage the deals we’re seeing at third-party vendors. In years past it has offered minimal discounts, or $50 gift cards, with the purchase of select products, and last year it skipped promotions altogether. Still, for folks with Apple stuff on their shopping lists, it’s worth keeping an eye on.

If you’re in the market for a new MacBook Pro, BHPhoto still has the best prices in town. The retailer is taking up to $200 off its 13-inch, non-Touch Bar models right now, and there is no sales tax for customers outside of New York. And of course, be sure to stay tuned to iDB this week for more coverage of noteworthy Black Friday deals.
