Pangu releases iOS 9.2 – 9.3.3 jailbreak

The Pangu Team released a jailbreak Sunday morning that is capable of jailbreaking iOS 9.2 to iOS 9.3.3 devices. Only compatible with 64-bit devices so far, the jailbreak is of the semi-untether kind, meaning a piece of software must be run on the device every time it is rebooted to be put back in a jailbroken state.

The tool is currently available in Chinese only, but should be available in English soon.

Rumor: iPhone 7 to launch week of September 12

Apple typically launches new iPhones in September and assuming the company sticks to its release schedule, this year should be no different. With only six or so weeks until an official introduction, prominent leakster and VentureBeat reporter, Evan Blass, posted on his @EVLeaks account on Twitter that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be released during the week of September 12. New iPhones typically go on sale on Friday, so we're guessing Friday, September 16, is our release date.

Protonix lets you create dynamic keyword shortcuts on jailbroken devices

Keyboard shortcuts are something we all have on our personal computers, whether it's a Mac or a PC, but it's not something that we get to enjoy on our iPhones or iPads.

A new jailbreak tweak dubbed Protonix is now available in Cydia that lets you set up dynamic keywords on your device so that when you type them, special things will happen.

We'll show you more in this review.

ConditionalWiFi lets you block certain apps from having Wi-Fi access

Many of you are probably familiar with the stock function of iOS that lets you restrict apps from having access to your cellular network, but iOS doesn't have a similar feature for restricting apps from utilizing Wi-Fi.

With a new jailbreak tweak dubbed ConditionalWiFi, you can now restrict any of your iOS apps from having access to the internet when you're connected to a Wi-Fi network, rather than a cellular one.

Pokémon GO set App Store record for most first week downloads

Pokémon GO set an App Store record for most downloads during its first week of availability, reports The Loop's Jim Dalrymple. This should come as no surprise to folks who have been following the craze surrounding the hit game, which has sat atop the App Store's Top Free and Top Grossing lists since it launched earlier this month.

Blurry video out of China compares claimed Rose Gold iPhone 7 rear shell to iPhone 6s

Earlier in the week, a video out of China gave us a nice look into iPhone 7 dummies in Gold, Rose Gold and rumored Space Black. It's time for another iPhone 7 video as we head out into the weekend.

Brand new footage, which surfaced last evening on Chinese social media, offers yet another comparison between a claimed iPhone 7 rear shell in rose gold finish and a Rose Gold iPhone 6s.

Latest Apple updates have fixed major Stagefright-like security hole in TIFF image handling

Apple's OSes suffer from a previously unknown exploit which could allow an attacker to compromise the security of a device by having the user open an unsuspecting TIFF image file. Thankfully, the vulnerability has been patched in the most recent releases of iOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS.

Resembling the dangerous Stagefright exploit that plagued Google's Android platform for the better part of last year, the security hole could allow a nefarious user to gather sensitive data from your device as soon as you access a simple text message containing a malicious TIFF image file, Fortune said yesterday.
